Fast Track Provided Exciting Action at the KDY Race Night at West Plains Motor Speedway!

West Plains, MO (July 21) With milder temperatures the track conditions proved to be super fast as the weekly racing program resumed at West Plains Motor Speedway, Saturday night. Sponsor for the event was KDY 102.5 FM, and also included the Conley Ford and Car-Get makeup event due to the rained out on June 30.
Events kicked off to an impressive parade lap with the KDY motorvan and a shiny new Conley Ford leading the mid-season points leaders around the track to the National Anthem. Another highlight of the evening featured the Youth Hobby Stock and Cruiser drivers making a special stop on the front straightaway at intermission and letting the fans come down on the track for autographs and photos.
The super fast, multi-groove conditions held through out the evening, with Scott Crigler of Alton, MO, emerging as the winner of the IMCA Modified feature. Taking second in the 26 car field was Chris Piper of West Plains, followed closely by Carmon Vincent of Moody, MO, Calvin Tribble of West Plains, Shawn Walsh of Ash Flat, AR, Matt Barry of West Plains, Joey Smith of Pomona, MO, Greg Waugh of Batesville, AR, Brian Judd of Caulfield, MO, and Ben Ledgerwood of BirchTree, MO, rounded out the top ten.
Balance of the Modified field included Kevin Collins and Denny Dennison, both of West Plains, Landon Clinton of Willor Springs, MO, David Kirkland of West Plains, Rustin Miller of Houston, MO, Jason Brigman of West Plains, Richard Smith of Williford, AR, Austin Smith of Mammoth Spring, AR, Jerry Croney and Kirk Hutchings, both of West Plains, Lonnie Judd of Caulfield, David Mallonee of West Plains, Anthony Carnal of Cabool, MO, Carl Murphy of Caulfield, Bobby Skinner of Moody, and Fred Scarbrough of Koshkonong, MO.
Stan Ellison of West Plains scored another Super Stock feature win at the KDY Race Night with Jeff North of Rogersville, MO taking second. Coming in third was Bobby Bryant of West Plains, followed by Dee Kelly of Birch Tree, Clint Seamans of Imboden, AR, Kevin Collins of West Plains, Bill Dixon of Thayer, MO, Andy Collins of West Plains, Cody Kelly and Todd Kelly, both of Birch Tree, and Donnie Miller of Houston, MO.
Hobby Stock feature winner was Dexter Frost followed by Bobby Bryant, both of West Plains, Rick Cooper of Thornfield, MO, Chuck Russell of West Plains, Shane Hitt of Birch Tree, Randy Dennison of West Plains, Jessie Shearin of Blue Springs, MO, Dean Smith of Mammoth Spring, AR, Scott Todd of Hardy, AR, Marty Toten of Pomona, MO, Korey Whitelock of Alton, MO, Richard Pratt of Oxford, AR, Brock Frost of Birch Tree and John Richeson of Ash Flat.
Winner of the Cruiser feature was John Stiner of West Plains. Coming in second was Tyler Newcom of Hardy, followed by Daniel Carter of Mtn. Home, AR, Clifford Collins, II, of West Plains, Sissy Ratliff Seamans of Imboden, AR, Benny Grogan of West Plains, James Haley of Flippin, AR, Kelly McDermott of Mtn. Home, Bill Harden, Mark Doiron,Clifford Collins, and Rhonda Gunter, all of West Plains, Jesse Johnson of Viola, AR, and Chris Skinner of Moody, MO, rounded out the field.
Winner of the Youth Hobby Stock feature event was Ben Piper of West Plains, followed by Austin White of Willow Springs, MO, William Piper of Birch Tree, MO, Cody Toten of Pomona, MO, Kyle Duke of West Plains and Rowdy Trivitt of Williford, AR.
Next week will be the West Plains Propane sponsored weekly points program. All classes will be running and gates will open at 5 PM, with hotlaps set for 6:30 and racing at 7 PM. Adult admission will be $8, senior citizens $5, kids 7-11 $2 and those 6 and under are always free.
