Fastrak Dirt Late Models Head to “THE GAP” Bulls Gap TN, April 8th.

As Series Founder Lester states, “This is the perfect weekend for all of our teams to make it to the race to get ready for the $25,000.00 4th of July weekend National Event. Bulls Gap is not like any other track. You don’t just come here and get fast right off the bat. It takes some track time and this is the perfect opportunity for that.

The Fastrak dirt late model division heads to the infamous high banked “Bulls Gap” dirt track in Bulls Gap TN. Officially named Volunteer Speedway, “The Gap” or Bulls Gap has quickly become known as one of the premier racing facilities in the United States. The high banks and capacity crowds along with the many improvements owner Joe Lovern has made in the last several years makes it second to none. The 400 loads of new clay put on the track this year should make the racing more exciting and provide several grooves around the extremely fast track. “I am going to make this one of the best tracks in the country” stated owner Lovern. “I will have several grooves in the turns and we are building a new drag strip along with a new pavilion behind the grandstands. Last year we put enough pit parking on the top side to accommodate 150 tractor trailers and we are not stopping there. Great things are in the works for The Gap”.

Series Founder Stan Lester stated, Bulls Gap is a great track to have the opportunity to race at. It is fast, provides great racing and the people there have become more like family, Track owners Joe and Phyllis Lovern, General Manager Doug Gillenwater, the track staff and all the teams there have become friends. It really makes it enjoyable”, stated Lester. “We just appreciate the opportunity. As of 2006 Bulls Gap has also gone to the Goodyear tire rule for this class and it should make for even better racing”.
