(MARION, IL) The Fastrak Midwest Region Points Championship battle continues with a back-to-back doubleheader weekend Friday May 13 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL and Saturday, May 14 at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY. Opening round winner and current Midwest Region Championship leader “Gentleman” Joe Morris of Galatia, IL will continue his title bid, but tough competition could come from PIR regular and current second-place contender Kevin Poole of Paducah, KY.

Hot on Poole’s heels will be Scott Hutchinson, of Johnston City, IL. Hutchinson raced from last place in his heat to take the overall third spot in the feature on opening night; given a better pill draw, he could be tough to beat. Midwest Region Director Sean Franklin is upbeat about Hutchinson’s prospects. “I think Scott was just working the bugs out during the opening round,” Franklin said. “I don’t think we have seen the best from him yet.”

Also on hand will be the opening round Hard Charger Award-winner Brian McGee of Marion, IL. McGee moved from tenth starting spot in the feature to sixth to earn the award, showing his skills in a crate engined car.

Gates open Friday, May 13 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL at 5 p.m., racing at 7 p.m. For ticket information contact the track at 618-427-3966 or 618-347-2327, or go online to fayettecospeedway.com.
