Fastrak’s next stop Antioch Speedway, NC
The Fastrak Series and teams are headed to Antioch Speedway on Saturday April 15th for the fourth race on the southern series schedule. This will be the second annual visit for the Fastrak Late Models at the North Carolina oval. Last year’s race saw Jody Palmer pick up the win over Roger Arrowood after the teams waited out a three-hour rain delay. The Fastrak Series will be led into the Antioch race by the most recent winner, South Carolina’s Lee Cooper. Joining Cooper will be Fastrak stars such as 2005 Rookie of the Year, Matthew Daniels; 2005 MidEast Region Champion, Shannon Buckingham of Tennessee; and Fastrak Rookie, Chris Carlson from Wisconsin.
The event will be a Southern/Mideast Region points race paying $2,000 to win and $200 to start. With points awarded going towards a position at the season end National Championship race paying a total points fund of $250,000, with $50,000 to the points winner at the end of the three days of racing. A great field of cars is expected, with drivers from all over the southeast expressing interest in the race, such as Ronnie Tullis, AJ Watson, Justin Sims, Scott Childress, Chris Steele, Bill Morgan, Kelly Fetger and a host of others.
The gates open at 5:00pm with racing at 6:30. Fastrak drivers will have an autograph session prior to the feature event and the Fastrak tennis ball throw, a fan favorite, will also be held just prior to the 50 lap feature.
