final gear

I could use some help figuring final gear. I am going to run a bomber at highland and need to know what overall final gear to shoot for. Any help greatly appreciated. thanks Shawn

I think ya wanna be in the 680's to 690's range as far as your final gear goes. Maybe 3.08 gears with a 2.20 box transmission might be enough.(6.77) May want to push it closer to 7.00 though. Hope this helps out some. And if i am wrong someone please correct me. Thanks!

You're best bet is to be at 7.20 to 7.50. We were runnig a 7.20 at the end of the year and could have used a little more. With a 7.20 and 225/70R15 tires we turned the motor 5700 to 5900 rpm's around the top of the race track. Hope this helps you.

Shawn, with the motor you are building, get a 175 box tranny and 411 gears. That will give you a 720 final/ Youll be where you want to be for Highland.
