Final Prep for the Fourth of July on 98.5 “The Bar” Race Night at Central Missouri Speedway!

(Warrensburg) Yet another Saturday of heavy storms at Warrensburg’s own, Central Missouri Speedway last weekend, caused a cancellation of the race program at the fastest the high-banked clay oval in the Midwest. This Saturday night the ‘Mighty” Modifieds, ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks and B-Modifieds will continue their quest for the CMS season championships on 98.5 “The Bar” Race night. Pit gates open this weekend at 4:30, grandstand open at 5, drivers meeting at 6:30 with hot-laps at 7 and the racing gets underway on the smooth clay oval at 7:30.

The Modified and ULMA Late Model drivers and teams are now forced into utilizing this weekend to prepare for the 3-day Fourth of July weekend specials culminating with the Sunday evening, Fourth of July- 7th Annual Tom Wilson BBQ Bowl $5,000 to-win Modified 40-lap special feature with $1,000 to start along with a Big Fireworks show. The ULMA Late Models will race for their $1,500 to-win special on Saturday, July 3.

Early entry saves the race teams money and drivers are encouraged to pre-enter at the track this Saturday or by going online at www.centralmissourispeedway.net and checking for the special red, white, and blue section of the web page for entry forms and event information. Admission ticket sales and entries continue this weekend at the track and can also be mailed, if postmarked by Wednesday, June 30 for drivers and fans alike.

For the extended weekend of racing at CMS, the entertainment starts on Friday, July 2 with the ULMA Late Model drivers beginning their qualification races for the 12 inside row starting positions. The Late Model scramble at the end of the evening is a points race for the ULMA series points chase. Street Stocks and the Ozark Mountain Midgets are also on the card with the Street Stocks starting to compete for a special 2 night mini-points bonus with extra pay for the top three positions on Sunday evening along with their normal payout on Friday night.

Then on night two, Saturday, July 3 the ULMA Late Model drivers will settle the final 12 starting positions on the outside row and also compete for a $1,500-to-win special feature with $125 to-start. Drivers do not have to be a member of ULMA to compete for this special but must adhere to ULMA competition rules. Saturday night is also the first night for Modified drivers to qualify for the 12 inside row starting spots. B-Modifieds are included in the Saturday-night program with their regular race payout. This will be night one of two for the B-Mods mini-point extra bonus pay for the top three positions concluding on Sunday evening.

Sunday night, July 4 then completes the regular weekly points races for the Street Stocks and B-Modifieds along with the extra bonus money for Street Stocks and B-Modifieds. The “Mighty” Modifieds showcase the qualifying for the outside row and finish up with the $5,000 to-win Tom Wilson BBQ Bowl Special feature. A big Fireworks show is also a part of the Sunday night show.
