Forster Wins First Feature of Season at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- With the announcement the Sportsmen class will not be a part of the racing program at the St. Francois County Raceway for the 2006 season, the remaining races for the class this season are taking on added importance. Saturday night Randy Forster of Farmington ended a long winless streak by picking up his first feature win of the season in the Sportsmen class to the delight of the large crowd. Matt Eaton finished in second place with Leonard Betch third, Doug Savage fourth and Kasey Nations fifth. They were followed by Donnie Mosier, Nathan Gibson, Chris West and Kevin Mosier. Eaton won the heat race with Betsch second and Donnie Mosier third.
In the 600cc Multi class, Joey Boyd of Farmington also picked up his first feature win of the season at SFCR by holding off Dustin Barks for the win. Rodney Williams finished in third place with Casey Barnhouse fourth and Brian Steele fifth. They were followed by Andy Moss, Keith Steele, Brad Greer, Jeremy Boyer, and Jim Tickle. Williams won the first heat race with Boyd second and Greer third. Moss won the second heat with Matt Dotson second and Brian Steele third. Tom Dickerman won the third heat with Barks second and Barnhouse third. Mark Shirshekan won the "B" main with Junior Ferguson second and Jimmy Stearns third.
In the Sprint car class, Joey Montgomery of Fredericktown was the feature winner with Daniel Adler second, Keith Burch third, Bryan Matthews fourth and Jerrod Hull fifth. They were followed by Jason Keith , Terry Babb, Steve Short, Jimmy Hurley and Tommy Worley Jr. Montgomery won the first heat with Short second and Hurley third. Timmy Montgomery won the second heat with Lance Gullo second and Worley third. Burch won the third heat with Matthews second and Keith third. Jeremy Standridge won the fourth heat with Adler second and Adams third. Jason Hunt won the "B" main with Babb second and Nathan Higgins third.
In the Modified class, Kasey Burch of Farmington picked up his third feature win of the season at SFCR. Brent Thompson settled for second place with Jeremy Greenwalt third, Mike Francis fourth and Billy Smith fifth. They were followed by Pete Koenig, Jon Paul Reando (his highest finish ever in a modified feature), Alan Conner, Kenny Kennedy and Chris Boyd. Burch won the first heat with Thompson second and Tommy Worley Sr. third. Greenwalt won the second heat with Conner second and Reando third. Francis won the third heat with Smith second and Lou Dremeier third. Adam Parmeley won the "B" main with Danny Resinger second and John Bohn third.
In the Pure Street class, Theran Pearl of Bismarck picked up the feature win Mike Abney second, Mark Todd third, Bill Skaggs fourth and Wayne Frymire fifth. They were followed by Chris Boyd, Chris Webb, Josh Skaggs, Wayne Hinkle and Alan King. Travis Goodman won the first heat race with Bill Skaggs second and Pearl third. Mike Savage won the second heat with Abney second and Todd third.
There will be no racing at the St. Francois County Raceway on Saturday, July 9th. There will be a special UMP Late Model show at SFCR instead on Tuesday, July 12th featuring NASCAR's Kenny Schrader amd Danny "The Dude" Lasoski. The UMP modifieds and the Pure Street class from SFCR will also be racing that night. "The Bull," 93.7 FM will also be on hand with their NASCAR van to play music, play games and provide give-aways.
