Farmington, MO (June 7) -- Jason Keith, Fredericktown, MO garnered the honors in the 25 Lap Sprint Division. Keith started the deepest in the field of any winner this season. He started ninth on the grid in pursuit of victory.

Was not all fun and games in the event. Pole sitter and dash winner Steve Short, Farmington, MO and last weeks winner Tim Montgomery would lead the field to the green. Short got the jump followed by Montgomery, Robbie Standridge, Springfield, IL, and last years Champion Joey Montgomery. Short would build his lead only to be slowed by a caution flag for Tom Dickerman, Cedar Hill, MO for his stalled mount. Once restarted the trio would again begin to pull away. Lap 5 would see a reg flag wave as Tim Montgomery rolled his car in turn #1. Reports indicated a stuck throttle. In order to slow the car Montgomery attempted to scrub speed and clipped the infield tire barrier and the wild ride. He would get out of the car under his own power and return to the pit area. This allowed the field to bunch up again and Short and Joey Montgomery now were in charge. Lap after lap these two would dice for position. All the while Jason Keith watched and lurked looking for a possible chance at the win. Short still looked as if he had the winning car. Montgomery bounce the cushion, tagged the wall and eventually drop out. Short again appeared to have the race in hand only to find rock under the accelerator pedal. Not able to “give it the gas” he had to settle for second. In speaking with him after the races. He said we’ll take it. The cars is still in one piece and we will be back next week. Speaking with the winner after the event, Jason told us and the huge crowd that the win was “a surprise”. He kept digging and working hard to gewt to the front and it paid off with a win. His first of the season. Top five are Jason Keith, Steve Short, Robbie Standridge, Bryan Matthews and Joey Boyd.

The Modified Division found a familiar face in the winners circle again. Mike Francis, Fredericktown, MO claimed his fourth win of the season. His HMS, Flower Box, e

Ellis Battery entry was on a set of rails. Working on all portions of the race track. David Shepard, DeSoto, MO shadowed the winner for the distance. Shepard was coming on strong at the end using a higher groove. Sweeping up the banking of turn four coming to the flag, Shepard had a run and was going to make it close at the line. However, the lapped car of Tom Vogt moved up the bank just a bit and Shepard had to brake hard. He settled for second. The Park Hills connection of Matt Eaton and Billy Smith could chase, but not able to gain. Top five are Francis, Shepard, Smith, Brent Thompson, and Eaton.

The Pure Street Division found another modified driver “crossing lines” and talking the dollars home for the second week in a row. Jeremy Greenwalt, Potosi, MO picked up the ride of Shane Blair, Cadet, MO and drove it to the win. He also won his heat. In victory Lane he thanked Shane for the ride and thanking the sponsors on the car for their help as well. Top five are Greenwalt, Blair, Bill Skaggs, John Bohn, and Mike Savage.

600 Multi Division found Ryand Kempin, Catawissa, MO get another win as he took the lead on Lap 2. James Scott, winner a week ago, would lead lap 1 and follow the leader till late in the event and end up third. Brian Keen, 2007 Champion at Doe Run Raceway, brought it home second. Top 5 are Kempin, Keen, Scott, Casey Barnhouse, and Sam “The Man” Miller.
