9/13 gas in Peoria was 3.99, stopped at Springfeild on the way back 4.19, got gas this morning in Troy Mo 3.73. Most everything I saw in MO was from 3.69 to 3.79. Illinois was 3.89 to 4.49. Diesel seems to not have been effected, only .10 difference between MO and IL by what I saw.

70% of the quiktrips in the stl division are out of fuel. We don't know when were gonna get a delivery. The quiktrip on bowels off 44 just got a delivery today.

QT usually is able to get it's gas a few cents cheaper then other stations. That is because they are unbranded and buy from BP, Shell, Conoco-Phillips etc... depending on who has the cheapest price that day. When supply is short they can still get gas but they have to pay more then other stations for it. They are letting some of their stations run out of gas rather then lose money.

Sounds logical as didnt see any one else out os gas???

This is getting too, funny! Casey's on 140 east of Bethalto, Il had on the board this morning reg 4.40 / super 4.64. Stopped in to get a gallon of milk and they were changing the board again. But guess what they were DROPPING, I repeat DROPPING the prices back down to 4.09 & 4.24. Casey's is one of the gas stations that got iin trouble on 9/11/01. They must think they are afraid that they are going to get in trouble, from the way the attendant was talking!!
Hope other stations fall into line and come to their senses!

qt does not buy their gas from bp or shell or any other of those listed.... we get it from groendyke who gets it from louisanna but that pipelines closeddd so thats y qt has no gas

Casey's this morning on rt3 in Hartford had it at 4.49. Just 1/2 mile down at Road Ranger...4.09. Hmm..can you say..gouging?? Guessing they didnt learn from their mistakes earlier

groendyke is simply a trucking company who picks up loads from one place and transports them to another. they are not a fuel distribitor. they are simply a trucking company with the right equipment to transport the fuel.
dont try to place this on them. and i actually respect quick trips position on this. they wont buy a load at rediculous prices mandated by the feul distributors when they think that the price will drop drastically in a few days. something needs to be done about the speculators that are ruining
this market. along with the hoarders that help drive up this market. panic buying is what has caused most of this. it should all be over in a couple days and all those folks will look kinda foolish with drums of gas in thier garage bought at in inflated prices when the price drops in the next week or so. still think im gonna get a 49 cc scooter though. just for the beer runs and such. makes sense to me. hate to give up my big van,
and probably wont, just drive it less.

I'm not putting this on them....but i asked my manager today where we got our gas and she said they bring it to us and they get it from louisana....its qt gas not shell gas not bp gas as said before.

All stations in the area get gas from 1 of the 2 local refiners. Each morning whom ever has the lowest "wholesale" price has the tankers lined up at that location.

Each company, Shell, QT, etc, just adds their own mix of detergents to each load of gas.

This is correct......There are a handful of pipelines in the st louis area where all these tankers fuel to bring to the locations. They have different additives at these terminals for different customers. And yes Groendyke does get gas from these local terminals. I work for a company that does maintenance at these terminals and we also do new installs of gas stations etc. ( piping, putting tanks in the ground, the whole 9 yards.) So i am familiar with what goes on. And it would blow your mind if you seen the insides of alot of these underground tanks at the gas stations. Especially diesel. Pretty nasty inside them tanks. Pretty amazing the stuff i have seen in this trade.

OK, we go with the up and down of gas prices in Belleville. Last Monday, $3.59, on Tuesday, it jumps $030. On Friday, it jumps $0.10 to $3.99.

On Saturday, it jumps to $4.09 and jumps again at a few stations to $4.49. I come home from I-55, there are back to $4.09. I get gas at $4.09 on the way down ahd then topped off on the way home in MO at $3.79.

All this is weather related and it is WRONG.

All the same

I live 5 minutes from a distribution center in St Peters. QT gets there gas from the same place the rest of them do. I have seen QT,Shell,ECT. tankers waiting to get fuel there the only difference is what they add to the fuel after they get it.

Update: Oil futures today closed down over $5, and gasoline futures dropped over 20 cents. Oil is now trading under $100/barrel.
