Saturday night at Phoenix saw one of the most popular veterans in NASCAR history return to Victory Lane for the first time since 2005. Mark Martin was able to stay ahead of two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart for the victory, the 36th of his career. Other top-ten finishers included two-time Gateway International Raceway winner Greg Biffle (fifth), 2004 GIR winner Martin Truex Jr. (seventh), and reigning Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 winner and Columbia, Mo.-native Carl Edwards (tenth). The Cup Series and the NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to the 2.66-mile restrictor-plate track in Talladega, Ala., this weekend.

Greg Biffle, the only driver to win at Gateway in both the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series, gave team owner Jack Roush a great birthday present Friday night at Phoenix: his 100th NNS victory. Roush, who celebrated a birthday on Sunday, earned his first series win as an owner with Saturday night's winner, Mark Martin, at Rockingham in 1993. Roush has gone to GIR's NNS Victory Lane three times: Once with Biffle (2002) and twice with Carl Edwards (2006, 2008). Other drivers finishing in the top-ten Friday night included three-time USAC Midget Series champ Jason Leffler (second), 2008 GIR runner-up Joey Logano (fourth), the 2008 Camping World 200 winning team owner Kevin Harvick (fifth), 2003 GIR Truck Series winner Brendan Gaughan (seventh), reigning ARCA RE/MAX Series champion and Riverton, Ill.-native Justin Allgaier (eighth), and Kyle Busch (tenth). Busch is now the points leader in the series after Edwards finished the night 33rd.

The NASCAR Camping World Series was off this weekend and returns to action Saturday afternoon at Kansas Speedway. Catch all the action on SPEED!

The NHRA Full Throttle Series swept through Atlanta last weekend, crowning two new Nationals winners. In Top Fuel, Morgan Lucas beat rookie Spencer Massey for his first-ever win and Eddie Krawiec raced past Doug Horne for his Pro Stock Motorycle Winners' Circle debut. It's an odd situation for Krawiec to be in, since he's the defending PSM champ! In Funny Car, Jack Beckman avenged his finals loss to Ashley Force Hood earlier this season by beating her in the finals this weekend. Finally, in Pro Stock, it was Mike Edwards over Jeg Coughlin Jr., in a final that was run Monday morning due to wet weather Sunday night. The series is off this weekend, but returns to Gateway International Raceway May 1-3 for the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals. Seats are still available, but they're going quick! Call 866-35-SPEED or visit GatewayRaceway.com to reserve your seat to some of the best racing in the country!
