Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon went a career-long 47 races without a win heading into Texas Motor Speedway, one of only two tracks on the circuit where Gordon had yet to win a Cup race. The #24 driver can now mark both those streaks off his list. He earned a commanding win at TMS Sunday with his hard-charging teammate, three-time defending series champ Jimmie Johnson, finishing second. Greg Biffle, a Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series winner at Gateway International Raceway, finished third, with former GIR CART winner Juan Pablo Montoya finishing seventh and two-time Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 winner Carl Edwards coming home tenth. The Sprint Cup Series is off this weekend and will be back on the track in two weeks for Saturday night racing at Phoenix.

Kyle Busch continues to collect trophies. His latest win comes in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Texas where he led 177 laps and earned a perfect driver rating. Tony Stewart, driving for two-time GIR winner Kevin Harvick, finished second to his former teammate with 2005 GIR NCWTS polesitter David Ragan finishing fourth, and 2002 Truck Series champion Mike Bliss earning a top-ten with his seventh-place finish. Riverton, Ill., native and 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Justin Allgaier finished tenth, his third-consecutive top-ten finish in NNS competition. The driver of the #12 Penske Dodge now sits fifth in the Nationwide Series points and first in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings. The NNS visits GIR's sister track, Nashville Super Speedway, this weekend where Gateway's qualifying record holder, Scott Wimmer, is the defending winner. The race is televised on ESPN2 at 2 p.m. CDT.

The NASCAR Camping World Series was off this weekend and returns to action on April 25 at Kansas Speedway. Catch all the action on SPEED!

The NHRA Full Throttle Series visited Sin City and tore it down on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Six-time Top Fuel champ and Illinois native Tony Schumacher proved last weekend at Houston was no fluke with his 58th-career TF win, beating the pilot of the Budweiser rail, Brandon Bernstein. Ron Capps, the 2007 Funny Car winner at Gateway International Raceway, earned his third win of the season against rookie teammate Matt Hagan and in Pro Stock, it was defending champ Jeg Coughlin, Jr. taking the Wally after three of his four eliminations competitors, including Greg Stanfield in the finals, left the line early for red lights. The NHRA Full Throttle Series is taking a break this weekend, but returns April 17-19 for the Southern Nationals in Atlanta.
