Could only go Saturday night, and after seeing the Friday night highlights we were looking forward to a great night of racing. Did not happen. The event was cool and I'm not blaming anyone, but the racing surface became horrible and most of the racing was not good. They did a great job staging this event, and I'm sure they learned a lot for next year.

I was wondering the same thing. I went to every main stream St. Louis media outlet this morning (all 3 major TV stations and Post Dispatch)and not one mention
I understand main stream sports guys outside of Indy & Charlotte don't consider auto racing a true sport.....but this in my opinion this was a major event that at least warranted a finish order or something
With that said, I wonder if the lack of enthusiasm from our inner circle resonated to the outside media.
I also know it's easy to get on a forum and complain about what didn't happen after it was over.
It's also easy to gripe about promotion when you're not the one promoting.
IMO this has the jump start to be something huge for dirt track racing. It needs to be brought to main stream, all of us gear heads know whats up.
Also just an opinion but promoters need to pay a couple of super stars from NASCAR to participate. Kenny Wallace did a great job of promoting but he was an Army of 1
Now I know the purest don't want no NASCAR dude (or Dudette) coming in here messing with our show...we need the outsider to have an interest and like it or not outsiders don't know Billy Bob or Jimmy Jo
All just an opinion and in no way meant as a slam

I was there Saturday night one of the greatest shows I've ever seen great racing if their was a driver that impressed me it would be Hunter rasdon didn't win or anything but not from the lack of trying the racing and drivers introduction pyrotechnics to the monster truck circling the track over all A great show

QUIT B-ATCHING-- my shit stunk but I tried -as did 230 or so other racers that now can say I WAS THERE !!! like the Million I WAS THERE!!! Ya all should thank the promoters for giving the Midwest racers a shot at this deal and putting up with some of us cranky racers LOL -- look who won the mods - a guy from just up the road so to speak- congrats to all the local guys also,if I had run better this might have been my last rodeo - but nope ya all will have to put up with my OLD AZZ next year -- HAPPY HOILDAYS ALL -- FIREBALL

not sure if it's official are not but read somewhere that this great show is already booked for the next two years hope so looking forward to next year

Also
Question here---- for all you rules guys out there--- Saturday night race results---
I see in the results where Kenny Wallace placed 10 in the A main---fine--?
I read where he place 7th in the B main----?
HOWEVER ---(now I am using race-monitor.com for results; they could be all wet) BUT nowhere do I see Kenny 's name in the results for any of the C mains---nor see his name in the results for the D main results---- Was this a provisional ??? Did they qualify Saturday night? Someone help me out here ?????????
If its a provisional- I suppose that's alright---but IMHO--- if he was given the spot because his last name is Wallace, then I think that would be a affront to all the other 130 plus racers who busted their ass putting there machines out there to try and eat the alphabet soup to try and qualify for the A main---I understand he does a lot of good will for the sport, but if this is the reason,it just smells of favoritism. All I am trying to convey here is that there has to be a better way to award a starting spot to a "backmarker" rather then use of a famous last name. Especially in a venue as big as this one was,
nothing personal, Kenny---just a old man's opinion----been bouncing around these dirt tracks since 1962- (as a punk kid :) :) )

I was in the house on Wednesday, and Thursday, watched dirt on dirt live feed on Friday---What a great show it was.
I hope the promoters made some money and Kevin G stays healthy enough to put the dirt down next year and the years after!!! The live coverage was just great . The racing was tough for sure, but the winners did not seem to complain to much .
This was a great effort for all involved in this event---I loved it (except for the cold pit area).

Wallace got a provisional, as did Weitholder.
Curious what the ticket count ended up being for Saturday?
Hope it met or exceeded there goals. Hoping this was a profitable event for the promotors.

Wallace qualified for the B Main based on Friday's results. He finished 7th in his race when the top 6 made it to the A Main, so he earned a provisional, as opposed to just being given it.

Weitholders provisional was to the fastest qualifier not in the A main, Wallace provisional was promoters choice. Kenny stated he accepted it. Ecause he missed transferring by one spot "they took top six".

The show was great cant imagine sombody complaining must have hit there head. real bullring action at its best. definitely be going every year they have it thanks to people who made it happen

I thought the dome was going to be torn down. Does anyone know if that was just a rumor or is this still going to happen?

The Rams only played there what 10 times a year? Now it can be used a lot more often for events like this. I think the deal of it being torn down was if a new stadium was built and the Rams stayed.

JUST THE FACTS , MAME', JUST THE FACTS+++SGT. JOE FRIDAY----DRAGNET
What kind of bilge water are you trying to feed us???? HELLO
Kenny Wallace weekend at the Gateway Dirt Nationals
Thursday --timed in 99th in first round of qualifying; timed in 95th in second round.Placed 5th in heat race 6 on Thursday
Friday---Placed 9th place in B main ---(could not find any results for him in any C or D mains on Friday; His name just don't show up--he did not race in any race but the B Main;( show me if he did). He did not race in the A main on Friday---
Saturday---finished 7th in the 2nd B main. evidently just 1 spot out of transfer. his name does not show up in any of the D or C mains on Saturday night. evidently he did not have to fire off for any race but the B main; (show me if he did). However , since they only transferred 6 , and he finished 7th, he got the provisional.
Kenny could have finished 20th in that b main and he still would have been given a provisional to the BIG MONEY Race
It is my belief that Kenny was gonna race in the big money race Saturday night no matter what he did on ANY night. After all, he promoted the race for the promoter and it would have been a shame if he just couldn't make it through the pre liems. He's Kenny Wallace, right?? --- Full discloser here---I think Kenny is the nicest one of the Wallace gang; I am glad he has returned to his hometown and races dirt locally-he is a GREAT spokesman for St. Louis and dirt racing all around---just think this is misguided and self serving on some ones part.
Oh well, in my heart I know what went down .I don't live my life with blinders on and I don't hero worship.-- Every other racer has to tear their chit up trying to get into the big money show, but others don't---what a crock. Try and think outside the box , people.
If the rest of you guys want to be sheep, go ahead on.----Ba---Ba---Ba--------Ba

So he gets a provisional into the A main or whatever. Big deal. When you have done 25-30 years of hard work, hustling, promoting, deal making to get yourself rides in NASCAR, modifieds, late models then manage to get yourself a big time media gig and keep it for a long time, etc then you too can have a free pass to the big show in your hometown.

Every time I have seen him he has been a great ambassador for the sport, but the last few times I have seen him you know what? He looks tired. Like he's running on fumes and the tank has been empty for quite a while. Yet he still puts on a smile, looks you square in the eye, asks your name, asks some questions about you and tries to make you feel welcome and appreciated for supporting the sport he loves.

So quite frankly if he gets a little leeway, if he gets some favors returned for all the work he has done nationally to put STL dirt track racing, and particularly this event, on the national racing map, so freaking what. You say he didn't earn that spot?

Quite frankly I can't think of anyone who raced there over the weekend who has paid more dues to earn it than him.

If anyone on here actually had a racecar that was at the dome and is bitching about Kenny Wallace getting a provisional please raise your hand. In other words keyboard whiners do not help or even hold merit on this. This was the greatest show of the year and thats all you guys have to bitch about? hahaha really?????????????????????????

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU GUYS DID Kevin, Tammy, and the entire staff from the top all the way to the bottom. WE WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT IS ALL...........................
