Another six-division program of Friday night racing is on tap this week at PIR.

Last week’s feature winners: John Tindal, Fancy Farm (Late Model), Randle Sweeney, Clifty (Modified), Tanner English, Benton (Crate Late Model), Paul Howard, Calvert City (Street Stock), and Matt Hartman, Paducah (Warrior) will attempt to extend their winning streaks. Clint Collins of Vienna, IL was the July 28 Mini Sprint winner.

PIR will celebrate Great Clips Night this Friday. Staff members from local Great Clips shops will be on hand providing complimentary haircuts for fans. Kids will enjoy Great Clips’ mascot, GC Sudz.

Also on Friday, PIR and Chevrolet again will be registering fans to win a 2008 Silverado. Four lucky fans will be randomly selected for the Grand Prize Give Away, which will be conducted at the track during the September 5 event. Qualifiers at the August 8 event were:
• Mike Ashley, Mayfield

The third in the NASCAR Night of Stars series will be held Thursday, August 21 with special guest Tony Stewart, two-time Cup Champion and one of the owners of PIR. A Midwest Motorsports Classic, the “USA World 50”, is scheduled for Friday, August 22 with the UMP/MARS Late Model feature paying $5000 to win.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. In 2008 the 3/8th mile high-banked oval hosts several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights of Stars, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, the USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. PIR races every Friday night and is located off Interstate 24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky. For more information call the PIR hotline at (270) 448-4PIR or the track at (270) 898-SHOW (7469).
