May 20-Clarksville, TN; Rusty Griffaw of Festus, Missouri took his second UMP Super Late Model feature event win of the season last Saturday night May 20 at the Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway. Other event winners May 20 included Steven Ashby of Cunningham, Tennessee taking the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Model Feature, Ronnie Richardson taking the Mini Mod Feature event win, Jonathan Hendrick in the Outlaw Mini Sprints A-Main, Don Everett, Mike Deala in the Pure Mini Stock feature, Michael Neighbors in the Street Stock feature, and Clayton Miller in the UMP Open Wheel Modified Feature.
On Sunday afternoon May 21, a special event was held for the Outlaw Mini Sprints with Travis Senter Jr. driving his # 22 Sprint Car to the victory over Eric Wright, Jonathan Hendrick, Kara King, and Dereck King. Other event winners included Michael Rittenberry in the Pure Mini Stock feature event taking the win over Chadd Hembree, Travid Treat, and Richard Champagne. The UMP Open Wheel Modified feature event was won by Charles Zimmerman taking the win over David Flowers, Clayton Miller, and Anthony Garber. Clayton Miller set fast time with David Flowers taking the Heat Race win.
The Wednesday night May 24, the Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway will host a special rtacing event for the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Models. The event will pay $1,000 to the winner of the special event tune-up event before the $3,000 StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series on Saturday night May 27. The UMP Super Late Models, Outlaw Mini Sprint Cars and the rest of the support divisions will be in attendance this Saturday night May 27. The Wednesday schedule includes an open practice for all other support divisions with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and Hot Lapping at 6:30 p.m. Pit Passes are $25.00 for this event with Adult Grandstand admission only $5.00

The points chase with the series includes top regulars Shannon Buckingham, Ronnie Johnson, Frankie Beard, David Gentry, Jimmy Kay, Jeff Fields, Denny Slayton, Jeff Smith, Carnell Parker III, Zach Nichols, Jeff Purvis and the rest of the touring series regular competitors. The Gates open on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. with Hot Lapping at 5:30 p.m. Pit Passes are $30.00 for this event with Adult grandstand admission being $15.00 and kids 10 and under with a paid adult ticket are admitted free.
This Sunday afternoon May 28 another Sprint Car special event will be held with the O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series 10th Anniversary Outlaw Thunder Tour taking to the track paying $2,000 to the winner of the sanctioned event. The event at the Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway will be apart of the 2006 annual Speed Week which runs for 7 races in 9 nights across Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi. The tour starts in Malden, Missouri and ends in Columbus, Mississippi. The Sunday Memorial Day Weekend special event will also feature the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Models, UMP Open Wheel Modifieds, and Mini Sprints on the racing card. The Gates open at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon with Hot Lapping slated for 5:30 p.m. Adult admission in the stands is only $20.00 with pit passes being $30.00.
