who watched last night and what about that new mullins engine? what do you think happened, defective parts, operator error? just for the sake of conversation, i know mullins engine is a top notch machine.

yeah and how about dean hoffman being on national tv!!!!!!! i thought that was cool. i am interested to see what went wrong next week.

what got me is tom charles drove all the way to illinois to get that engine only to find that the engine had aluminum heads which he couldnt run. you would have thought they would have discussed that before hand. all the thrashing they had to do on the engine might have had something to do with it. jmo. but i do know that mullins is a top notch engine. just look at the usmts series results.

bb i thought same thing about not letting chad know what engine rule was not chad s resposibility to know there rules you could see how upset chad was. i am very curious also as to part failure. was cool seeing shop and dean. also when they had police block road so they could run down the street. What rules do u think they are running over there and what type tire??

Looked like IMCA tires. The show needed to inject drama, how can you be one of the Top engine suppliers and "Not" know the rules for an engine you are footing the bill for?

This show is ok, but it seems that it is a bit over the top. I agree about knowing the rules but they probably had to do it that way for "entertainment" purposes. The same goes for having the cops blocking the road, like that would ever happen!!! I'm sure Chad got compensated for being made to look foolish, but that doesn't make it right. Also, Mrs. Charles seems to know it all maybe she should be the crew chief.

i was also suprised about the heads, i dont think it was so much that he didnt know the rules for an engine he was footing the bill for as it was that was probably an engine that he had sitting complete when the opertunity to sponsor him came up. i also dont think chad was made to look foolish, i bet we will find out monday that it wasnt anything to blame in the assembly of the engine. maybe it had something to do with all that gas they were pouring down the carb, gas dont compress and being a new motor not too much of it was probably getting around the rings.

yeah she does seem to know everything lol

On the fuel was it me or did it seem like they poured 2 gallons down the carb.

it might have been close to it lol. on top of what that high pressure pump was forcing in there while he was cranking and pumping the heck out of it

I gotta say, it just seems funny that he had fuel problems, and changed the fuel pump the week before and then blew his motor up. He put the mullins motor in and blew it up in the heat race? I don't think it was the motor, i think it was something else! he was having problems before that and didnt fix it right and it cost him that mullins motor. I also beleive they are adding drama into the show, but hell if they want unstaged drama, send that tv crew to Pevely, lol, always something exciting, maybe some helmet fighting too!

Yeah it's the IMCA G60 tire. A lot of people refer to the tire as "the hockey puck tire". I like the tire though, it's good rubber.

Trust me it will be part failure. No engine builder is gonna say they screwed up on national television....lol... As a matter of fact I've never heard an engine builder admit fault when one of their motors grenade, too easy to blame parts and hard to tell.

btw.... I am in no way suggesting anything negative about Mullins race engines. If I had to bet, it probably was a part problem.

alot of this is just "drama". the motor that wouldnt start WASNT the Mullens motor, it was actually footage from earlier with the fuel pressure problem (not even the same car).

As I understood it from Tom (I didnt get the whole story), the part about showing up and the motor had aluminum heads was acurate, they did thrash to get a legal motor together, and there was no dyno time. The problem was actually the carburetor, as I understood it from him, there was no "catastrophic parts failure".

Mullens was given the opportunity to sponsor one of the cars during the show, and Tom was the recipient. Just alot of scripting, and editing for the rest.

That pretty much describes all reality shows. I'll bet my life that they are all 80% scripted from American Idol, Deadliest Catch, Survivor, and all the way to Heartland Thunder. And have you ever noticed that all of the "teaser clips" (prior to a commercial break) never accurately depict what the producers insinuate the next scene will be about?

big right up in kansas ctiy star last sunday about the show. says that the show made them better friends and yes there is alot of editing to it. so everything you see is not exactly what happened. this is one of my local tracks and never here of any drama like the show wants you to believe.not knocking them, but the 4 on the show are not even the real players at the track. i think some politics might have played a part there.JMO.

Well bad news everybody it doesn't look like we are going to find out what happened. I'm a fan of Heartland Thunder on Facebook and they just posted this message:

Bad News Folks.. seems that Discovery Channel didn't get the ratings they wanted from the show.. so they are pulling it off the prime time schedule. Tom Charles says they might still air late at night. Doesn't mean it might not come back someday, but odds are.. it won't

That ****s I don't think they really even gave it a shot. Hopefully another channel will pick it up.
