Laurel, Mississippi (03/28/12) – Henderson Motorsports team drivers, Scott Creel and Leon Henderson, are planning a big weekend as they plan to enter a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events in the South.
Last Saturday night found Henderson Motorsports at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for a $2,500-to-win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event. Twenty-nine cars were on hand for the race, and Leon Henderson began the night by qualifying fourth fastest in his group to lock into the dash in his L&D Trucking/Victory Circle by Moyer/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model. An eighth place finish in the dash earned him the eighth starting spot for the 50 lap feature. He would battle in the top ten for much of the event before crossing the finish line in the 11th position.
Scott Creel was also in action in his #31 L&D Scrap/Mastersbilt/Cornett Racing Engine entry , and he fell just one spot short of locking into the feature via time trials, but he did earn the pole position for a b-main. After winning the b-main Creel started ninth in the feature event, and he would also battle in the top ten for the duration of the feature before registering a 9th place finish.
Scott is now fifth in the latest MSCCS points, and Leon is sixth in the standings. Full results and the complete standings are available at www.StateSeries.com.
This weekend, both drivers are planning to enter a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events in Mississippi and Texas. The first $10,000-to-win event will be held on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) before moving onto Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) on Saturday night for another $10,000-to-win event.
