Highland Speedway 2013 Racing Season Announcements

i like the claim rule. i think there should be a form of claim rule in every class, enforced by the track not ump. if people know they could get claimed and really lose their stuff, they might not dump a million dollars in a car to win 200, or 500.

claim rules do not work, sorta like a code of oath that no one wants to be the arsewipe that does the claiming, only way to cheapin the classes is with crates but better yet an "open motor rule" that chokes them with 2 barrels and keeps them on hard tires, I could go to indy and buy a truck load of used parts to build a few good competitive engines for what 1 mullins engine cost, and the good thing is about that is there wouldnt be 1 single fan that could or would know any difference....

this is honestly the dumbest thing highland could have done. hornets are a great money maker for any track. people want their cars to look representable and the have sponsors as well, i dont know about you, but if i sponsored a car i would want my company's name to look nice, not just some spray paint. if the want to pay for wraps who cares? its a race car and the most affordable class to run. just because some cars are supposedly "cheating" doesnt mean you should get rid of the class. almost every class cheats, yet they havent been eliminated. highland will regret this. they paid the same to get in as everyone else and made what, $100? so there goes their profit. oh well should be a big field at tri-city next year.

Again not hating on the hornets as I do believe they are a money maker, however, you guys keep mentioning the 100 bucks to win. This was meant to be a trophy class. I think its absurd that they make a 100 bucks to win a feature, while Street Stocks are 150 to win. I believe Street Stocks are getting out of hand, and if we are not careful we are gonna combine them once again into a "Sportsman" type class.

I'll be the first to say it since no one else will...Highland got rid of the hornets cause guys like Rob Shaw! Took a stock class and started doing this and that and now you guys got ran off from one track and I believe it might be for the best...bring on some open wheel !!!

i think the class to start teenagers in should be the bomber class, in my opinion. The problem is that class is quickly becoming a steel body sportsman class compared to what it was in 98 when i started racing......

I think the race-ceivers are a great idea as long as they check for them. at brownstown indiana they randomly call everybodies numbers when they are lining up and you have to wave your hand at them to show you are listening.

I race part time, running only once a week. I didn't even have a personal car this past season. The last time I raced full time at Highland was 2005. Since then I have only won there (10) times in (7) years and that's around (150) nights. Funderburk would be the only other veteran that won some races this past season. He has around (10) feature wins in (7) of the years that he has been racing. He currently has (0) track championships. Now Highland dropping this class is not going to affect me much. I will go on traveling the many race tracks in this area as I've done for many years now. Continuing to helping probably 90 percent of the drivers along the way. I believe that if you give everyone the knowledge to be competitive, there will be less arguing and better racing.

I know theres no real reason to post anymore on this post but idiots like you dirtboy make me sick. You don't have the slightest clue about racing your just a wannabee and def a never gonna be because you lack common sense and prob even common knowledge. The class is still stock and we have changed nothing about this class but how good our cars look. I wish that the track and fair board members would really reconsider letting us race next year but on and off wit another class and do what u want on teching these cars however you want and even have a meeting for them with the drivers can at least explain themselves please just give us a chance to explain and show you everything about this class cause obviously none of you guys have no clue about our class thats why you used all the wrong excuses for gettin rid of us. By the way dirtyboy please stay off these post unless you have something smart to say or know what your talikn about.

Well I suppose if I ran a car there weekly and the class was dropped, I would be upset too. On the other side of it, since I have a car that can be raced there in a new class, I am looking forward to the chance to race there. Giving the promoters the benefit of the doubt, they are eliminating the class with slowest lap times and adding a class that will have the fastest lap times. I am sure the fans will let them know if they approve or disapprove soon enough as to the racing they are paying to see as there are other options to spend their racing dollars on.

boo who...sorry you guys did it to your self! You can say what you want but the fact is you guys took this class in another direction and Scott did what was right. You can only blame yourself and I say bring on some open wheel cars. Hey atleast you guys can go run I-55 or macon lol

scott may have had a word in this issue but the fair board makes the final call. scott is just a hired gun to take the *** chewins so the fair board and sharp shooters can collect and hide.
