Highland Speedway announcers

Soooooo miss Tim Zobrist. So sick of the ones you have now. They're so stupid. They have no clue what they're talking about and have no personality. Wish the speedway and Tim could come to an agreement and have him back.

Ps: how come you keep shoving the tires onto the track and taking away from good racing. Last week late model race is a perfect example. It was good till the caution came out and then you pushed the tires like 4 feet too far towards the track and it turned to one lane racing. (you could see the marks in the dirt where the tire was suppose to be) Makes for a great show.....

Thank you for your input. I also enjoyed working with Tim Zobrist. In fact, I have enjoyed working with all of the other announcers I have been paired with in my 25 years of doing this. So I will try and learn something about the sport and be less stupid.

Not that I think you do bad Doug but I would have some constructive suggestions if your interested I will be at tri city Friday if not I understand I don't like people telling me how to do my job either lol might keep these haters off your back lol looks easy till the mic is in your hand

i am always open to constructive conversation. It's the bashing I turn a deaf ear to. Haters gonna hate.

doug and tim are friends of mine--they both serve a purpse to keep us informed---I tried it once NO THANKS-if ya all think U can do a better job then jump right in---just like oficeating--or promoting races--cant make all happy---I do know one thing-if I EVER win a feature and they bring me the trophy I aint kissing ether one of em-----this is lenny garson--if I pizzed some one off GOOD!!!

besides asking why you felt the need to make this post, i would like to know why after witnessing a night at highland speedway the only thing you have to complain about is the announcing?

Wasn't at Highland last night but am usually there all the other times. But I think what Race_lovrs is getting at is that some times the announcers just kind of ramble about stuff that really doesn't pertain to what is going on at the time of the race. Another problem right now is these transponders what I see is that the officials really don't know what is going on. I'm beginning to wonder if the transponders are not programmed to the right car. Every week it takes for ever to get the guys lined up I don't understand. I notice some times the flag man seems comfused as to what is going on with cars not picking on the flagman he does a good job. I think they need to look at the transponders better.

Yes those things at this point in time seem to be way more of a headache than they're worth. Hey jimmy ain't seen ya in a while u runnin this year?

I have worked around Doug since his days at I-55 and Godfrey.and he has always been a good announcer. He doesn't feel the need to be Mr. Know it all.
He does his job and does it well
Anyone who announces at two tracks and works on two race radio show must be doing something right

But they need to know who is in the cars. It is mid season I know there has been a lot of missed races but he is still calling the blue and white 88 b-mod Rob Lee, Steve Stevenson has been running that car all season. Maybe instead of up in the both before the races they need to go down and actually see which driver has come and runnning what car. I know some of the cars have different drives in them but still. That is my complaint.

TRANSPONDERS--let me tell ya--don't work all the time--I was not scored all night sat...I ran the first feature-the heat (I got passed on a yellow by a car for the transfer spot cause I was not being scored)went out for the semi-there were 6 but only 5 showed on their computer so they put all in the feature (worked out my way on that deal)then showed as a DNS in the last feature...I will say the lades in the pit shack did go out of their way to get me my pay..plus they had to put up with my old crazy azz

I was at the Summer Nationals at Highland and I know they played at least one interview that they had gone out into the pits to record

So the guy didnt know, big deal give it rest he made a mistake you gripping little wusseys make mistakes, i dont know doug but i think he dose a damm good job

For one thing I am not a Wuzzy and yes everyone makes mistakes myself included. But if you don't let people know what is going on then there is no way to fix it.
