That has to be the biggest crowd that I ever saw at Highland. Does anyone know if it was a record? I have seen them turn people away at the fair race but that was before they added on to the stands on the ends.
 
And the greasy sharpshooters lined their pockets from the food and beer sales... wonder what their gonna do with all that money!?

83% of all food and Beer sales since the dinasours roamed the earth yet the race committee is forced to cut payouts to the teams to make ends meet.... if you think the place is great now you wouldn't believe how good it would be if them money grubbing sharpshooters weren't involved.
 
Sharp Shooters are a cancer up there. I know they had enough people that they ran out of Busch Light. That's the real travesty. I mean, other than the track before they re-worked it. I kept hearing about how much better the track was this season, but that looked like the same ol' Highland to me. 5+ hours to run a program for 3 classes.
 
The sad part is the sharpshooters do nothing... the fair board and race committee take care of the place besides picking up the trash after the races. Everything else is done by volunteers.. it's been this way for years.... you said it best they are cancer.... compare the place to fairbury and look at all the proactive things they do. The difference? The legion is on board with whatever it takes to make the place the best it can be... the sharpshooters? Standing there with their hands out for your money and don't put a dime into anything.. ok, maybe a coat of paint to put on the bleachers once every 10 years cause the place is, well, covered... and well they prolly just bought the paint and the fair board prolly applied it.....
 
the same can be said about the fair board at belleville. there is no fair so why do they need a fair board exept to take your money for nothing
