Highland updates

If Randy touched him, there was about 20 of us sitting left of the flag stand that could not tell if he spun him or not intentionally. Laps 32-34 were close between the two with both trying to race each other and manuever through lap traffic. You know, that's part of racing. But, my question is, what would have happened at other tracks? Why does it always seem that Highland always has some of the most controvesy that is posted on this sight (Or it at least sticks out the most)? What if Mevin would have actually hit Korte on the front straight stretch after the yellow was thrown? Would any penalty be given to Melvin? Either way, what happened - happened. It still was a decent feature, but I wish something could be done to improve the racing - If you were at Haubstadt Sunday night, you know what I am talking about.

Nothing would have happened at anther track. I was at Paducah for the Tri Track and Korte hit Melvin and someone else (sorry don't remember the guys name) they did nothing.

Korte spun melvin no question.. I guess korte had to drop him like he was hot.. I also think the 17 car casper got what he needed , 17 spun the 19s out and they sent 19s to the back and then 17 casper spun the 28 ketrow??sp.. casper got what was commin to him.. maybe it will teach him... Have a nice day

GO beilong_- Learn it, like it, love it!!!!!!!!!:)

did anybody see O'neal try the same thing on Erb on the same lap going into 1 and 2 and Erb saved it; on that dry slick track it only took a little "love" tap to get somebody loose.

smokum3, Haubstadt was the worst SN track they have ran so far. The track tonight was not great but the racing was good. Tempers will cool tonight and tomorrow brings a new race.

Congrats to Erb.

Good luck to all continuing on the SN tour.

I think Korte is a good enough of a driver that pretty much nothing is done unintentionally. Randy knows what he is doing and who he is doing it to. If you know Rodney at all, you know that he realizes what is racing and what isn't. Rodney is also the type of guy that wouldn't run someone over after a caution is thrown - Rodney isn't going to intentionally cause damage to his car or to anyone else's because he knows the time and money that it takes to make the repairs as he has to do them himself....unlike other drivers.

I wasn't there tonight to see the incident, but strictly going based off of knowing Rodney, having watched Randy race for umpteen years and knowing what has happened in the recent past, I would say that Rodney finally had enough of Randy's love taps.

dont know about now, but rodney and randy are pretty good friends, so i bet they talked and worked things out betwwen the 2 of them. and everyone else on here are killing each other. next race this one is over move on.

How were track conditions? And congratulations to Erb winning!!

Can't wait to see all these guys, and Birkhofer, Brady Smith, and Shannon Babb!!

There was a huge cushion on top, but it was fast on the bottom.

It was actually one of the better late model races I've seen at Highland in a long time. O'Neal led the first 33 laps before Erb ran him down and made the pass.

There was a lot of passing throughout the rest of the field. AJ Diemel started 18th I believe and finished 6th.

The track was horrible again! It was finally a good track to race after the Street Stock/Sportsman feature. It was an ok race, it's always exciting it's a summer nationals race!

We were told by the highland P.D. that rodney got escorted out after the feature. He went into Randy's Pit area and into his hauler and was yelling. So the highland P.D. escorted him out of the track. I guess after all these years he finally got tired of "Randy's Love Taps"

The track was in bad shape for heat races, pretty much one lane, by the feature it appeared to passable. Cars were passing with out hitting each other, except for the incident already on here.

When Melvin went to Korte after the race, Korte told Melvin to "pick a lane next time" now if that is NOT the pot calling the kettle black...
