The long and storied history of LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle,IL will add another chapter Saturday, May 8 when the Stacker2® Xtreme DirtCar Series rolls into the high-banked ¼ mile clay oval for the running of the $10,000 to win “YJ Stinger Illini Challenge 50”. Not only will the side by side, high horsepower excitement play out on the speedway but fans will be in a for special treat with several promotional items planned leading up to and the day of the $42,000 purse event.

For the first time ever in LaSalle Speedway history the cameras of the Speed Channel will capture all the action of the Stacker2® Xtreme DirtCar Series event with the broadcast to air Saturday, May 29 at 3:00pm EDT. And, a strong promotional effort will find the Stacker2® Xtreme DirtCar Series “simulator” DirtCar making several stops at various locations in the LaSalle area throughout the week with free samples of Stacker2® and YJ Stinger Extreme Drinks available. Plus, one lucky fan in attendance at the “YJ Stinger Illini Challenge 50” will walk away $1,000 richer by participating in the Stacker2® “Paydirt 24” promotion.

Excitement is the best word to describe the “homecoming” for Stacker2® Xtreme DirtCar Series owner/president Doug Bland to his “home” area. “I grew up in LaSalle County and LaSalle Speedway is my home track. I’m just so pumped up to be able to bring our series to LaSalle Speedway. I’m leasing LaSalle Speedway for this event and it’s been a joy to work with Kerrianne Izzo on this promotion. It’s a perfect fit for both parties. LaSalle Speedway is part of our Weekly DirtCar Series which mandates the Goodyear Racing Eagle as the only tire for competition. It’s the same thing with the national Stacker2® Xtreme DirtCar Series. This gives the LaSalle Speedway racers an even playing field to compete with the national touring race teams. The mandated Goodyear Racing Eagles for the event will be the Goodyear Racing Eagle X-300 and Goodyear Racing Eagle X-400. That’s the same tire the LaSalle Speedway DirtCar drivers compete with on a weekly basis”.

Bland also added, “This is a chance to bring a very exciting professional racing organization into LaSalle Speedway and give the fans in my home area something more than just the racing on the speedway. With the Speed Channelcameras there the fans will be a part of LaSalle Speedway history. It will be the first time ever for a national television broadcast of an event at LaSalle Speedway. All the promotions we have planned for the fans throughout the week in the LaSalle area and then with the ‘Paydirt 24’ contest the night of the race, it’s going to be something the fans at LaSalle Speedway have never had before”.

Ms. Izzo is also pleased to have this history making event as well. “It’s sort of been rush-rush to put this whole thing together but I’m just so pleased and excited that Doug is going to do this event for LaSalle Speedway and the fans. Our staff will work hand in hand with the Stacker2® Xtreme DirtCar Series to present the best racing event we can. And, this coming Saturday, May 1, we will still present the ‘Jeff’s EngineMaster Spring Shoot-Out 40’ paying $4,000 to win. That race will be held as scheduled”.

And, as an added bonus for the “YJ Stinger Illlini Challenge 50” any fan presenting their adult general admission ticket stub from this Saturday's “Jeff's EngineMaster Spring Shoot-Out 40” at the May 8 Stacker2 Xtreme DirtCar Series event will receive a $5.00 discount off adult general admission.
