Hoosier A40S burnoff period extended at several area tracks

Let me clarify about Quincy Raceways....

We are extending the A40S burnoff on the FRONT longer than July 1. Perhaps through the majority of the season. We have a couple of teams sitting on a good number of mounted A40S's.

But as for the REAR, the burnoff period will end following our Summer Nationals on June 21.

UMP---do this and it will help the B MOD guys---let them run the tire on any location for a extended time---also what about Highland?

What about an extended burn off on grooved tires for the rear? There are some part timers out here.

I think they should just let us run them til there gone when they are illegal where can we sell them I guess everyone is suppose to eat 8 or ten tires I promise tracks would give us 8 or ten free pit passes

I never understand why they do a burn off. If they make a rule I think it should be a rule until the end of that calendar year. Not 2 months after they make the rule then say oh $hit yeah that's not a good rule either lets back to the way that we thought wasn't working and try it again and see if it works this time.

That wouldn't look that good after five laps in hot laps at I-55 there ok everywhere but the RR most places but then we are back to 3 tires again to many options I now have to carry 15 tires last year only 8 just a pain in the but wish they wouldn't have changed any rules over the winter all it did was cost me money

I think I agree they made the rule they should allow it for the year or until they are burnt up and gone but tracks don't care it is coming out if our pockets not there's

Make a rule and stick to it.. Mods in recent history have gone from no spoilers, to spoilers, back to no spoilers.... D, H, and A compounds with siping, then grooving and siping was allowed and soon its just back to siping... then the A-S came out and now you can only run it for so long... then its back to A's and H's.... Next are we going back to nerf bars being required? Maybe we will solar to keep Al Gore and the global warming crybabies happy? I heard this A-S tire was tested at Eldora, is that correct? If so, Eldora is sure to be harder on tires than Pevely... If they want to stick to 2 compounds go with the A and A-S...

As for Rusty upset about UMP allowing 3 compounds again.... they actually allow 5 right now... D-40, A-S40, A-40, H-40, and DCM400... The D is still allowed per UMP's tire rule... but that is subject to change at any minute apparently.

They said they tested at Eldora after the fall nationals or whatever show was at the end of the year. No prep to the track. The way it was after all the features the very last night.

My 2500lb sport mod RUINED both right side tires in 3 laps at Pevely. That was hot laps, so I didn't even run the car hard.

Ask Dean Hoffman or Matt Brucato how those tires wore at Pevely.. Hoosier even comped them a tire.

My last comment and piece of advice on the tire subject is if I were any of you I wouldn't stock up on any of the current tires we have at the end of the year get down to the bare minimum at the end of the year good luck to all

iv ran the 40s's all year and in least 3-4 features and i dont seem to have any problems with them. i dont sipe or groove them. just grind them and they fire and work great since iv got them. they dont seem to have much wear on them either.

We too have run the 40-s in 3 features and 2 heat races on both LR and RR. Tire fires awesome and doesn't seal over like the old 40. We've been to Fulton and tri-city with it so I can't say how it holds up at pevely, but mine still has great tread and at this rate I'll be running the same set about another 2 weeks, and I don't look for them to be junk at that point, just have new ones I need to try and "burn up"
