A " RACER" will prepare and race as hard for $100 or $1000 it is a thing called pride. How can you put a car on the track and get $40 back if you make the feature.Wow! No incentive or reward for hard work or success. No competition.
You should call them "O-Mods" ....O for Obama and count me out from participating or watching.
That would be fine, I could buy the same beer with my lap money, providing I finished on the lead lap. That is the idea of splitting the purse.I think the idea of "no rules" would result in 5 $50000 modifieds raced by people who would use the $5 a lap to buy beer at the end of the night with.
sorry that is plain stupidThis is my idea for the b-mod. As few of rules as possible, rules cost money, and they will always get bent. Any motor, any transmission, any rear end, any fuel, any carb, any tire, any suspension. Rules min. weight for safety, 10 inch steel wheel, open front end, shock claim. This way there should be plenty of used parts to pick from. Maybe some guys will go back to making their own parts. Cars will all be a little different looking body wise, depending on what someone likes. NOW HERE IS THE TWIST!!!! Depending on the car count , all will get paid the same per lap. I thought $5 per lap for heats and $10 per lap for feature. This way there is no financial gain to have a high dollar ride.If they want to race for more money there is the a-mod. This would give everyone money to cover entry fee and back to the track the following week. Cars will get torn up less, tire bills will be low, which means more cars return. I really think this would work with a little tweaking. What do you guys think? Kevin would this work. We would like to put one together but I keep looking at the 11th- 20th place money and say I must be a fool. I stood in the pits at belleville @ the summer nationals and the mods where qualifing from 12.7- 13.2. I had the track record there @13.02 and later on rick bayer broke it in the high 12s back around 1985. That was a $6000 car with a single tire pulling, but they were superior tires in the day!!!!!!!
remind ray and Kenny brown about that in aprilI would rather have the trophy than the money when I quit my trophy a is all I have i55 or Belleville have feature winning stickers or trophys in 2013 or at least on the nights I won
So come on track owners I know it shouldn't be all on your shoulders. The sanctioning bodies should step up. Let's be pro active and let's go to a 40 only rule in area. Must pass duramater test.. Atleast.. Let work together to fix what the sanctioning bodies wont
Wow changing the tire rule to 40s only will really increase car counts and put butts in the stands.....good idea
