Hurley Takes Checkers at St. Francois County Raceway

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (Aug. 20, 2005) Jimmy Hurley of Springfield, Ill. picked up his second feature win of the season Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway. Hurley held off A.J. Bruns for the victory with third place going to Timmy Montgomery, fourth to Tommy Worley Jr. and fifth place to Joey Montgomery. They were followed by Kent Buckley, Daniel Adler, Keith Burch, Tiffany Wyzard and Greg Burns. Jason Keith won the first heat race with Kent Buckley second and Wyzard third. Hurley won the second heat with Worley second and Burch third. Bob Thoman won the third heat with Bruns second and Joey Montgomery third. Curtis Boyer won the "B" main with Jerrod Hull second and Nathan Higgins third. Buckley won the trophy dash with Bruns second and Keith third.
In the Modified class, Billy Smith of Park Hills sailed to victory with John Bohn second, Kenny Kennedy third, Brent Thompson fourth and Tommy Worley Sr. fifth. They were followed by Jeremy Greenwalt, Chris Boyd, Mike Francis, Jon Paul Reando and Rick Ruch. Worley won the first heat race with Bohn second and Boyd third. Francis won the second heat with Smith second and Leo Kiefer third. David Shepard won the third heat with Kennedy second and Boyd third.
In the Sportsmen class, Doug Savage of Farmington earned his first feature win of the season at SFCR after holding off points leader Matt Eaton for the victory. Randy Forster was third with Leonard Betsch fourth and Kevin Mosier fifth. They were followed by Kyle Stolzer, Chris West, Donnie Mosier, Eric Sarakas and Nathan Gibson. Eaton won the first heat with Forster second and Gibson third. Savage won the second heat with Betsch second and Kasey Nations third.
In the Pure Street class, Jeff Beeson of Benton was the feature winner with Chris Boyd second, Chris Webb third, Ray Dodd fourth and Jason Mueller fifth. They were followed by Bill Skaggs, Mark Todd, Mike Savage, John Bohn and Derek Shipman. Josh DeSpain won the first heat race with Dodd second and Shipman third. Webb won the second heat with Mike Abney second and Boyd third. Mueller won the third heat with Beeson second and Chris Cannon third.
In the 600cc Multi class, Tom Dickerman was the feature winner with Joey Boyd second, Ryan Criswell third, Andy Moss fourth and Dustin Barks fifth. They were followed by Jimmy Stearns, Jimmy Bridgeman, Rodney Williams, Brandon Nixon and Brad Greer. Dickerman won the first heat with Criswell second and Bridgeman third. Moss won the second heat with Boyd second and Nixon third.
There was also a make-up feature that had been rained out the previous week in the 600cc Multi class and Criswell was the winner with Boyd second, Bridgeman third, Greer fourth and Moss fifth. They were followed by Williams, Nixon, Brian Keen, Ray Statler and Dickerman.
