Hurley Wins First Sprint Feature of Season at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (June 11, 2005) The rain clouds disappeared and the stage was set for Jimmy Hurley of Springfield, Ill. to win his first sprint feature of the season at the St. Francois County Raceway. Hurley was lightning fast on the tacky track on his way to victory lane. Tommy Worley Jr. of Bismarck was second with Bob Thoman third, Joey Montgomery fourth and Jason Hunt (who started on the inside pole) fifth. They were followed by Keith Burch, A.J. Bruns, Steve Short, Doc Sloan and Nathan Higgins.

Tim Montgomery won the first heat with Worley second and Sloan third. Thoman won the second heat with Hunt second and Jason Keith third. Hurley won the third heat with Tyler Thompson second and Short third. Hunt won the trophy dash with Hurley second and Tim Montgomery third.

In the Modified class, Mike "Hurricane" Francis of Fredericktown blew across the finish line in the feature to pick up the checkered flag. Tommy Worley Sr. captured second place with Steve Maisel third, Brent Thompson fourth and Jeremy Greenwalt fifth. They were followed by John Bohn, Allen Conner, R.C. Hovis, Danny Resinger and Gary Henson.

Francis won the first heat race with Kenny Kennedy second and Chris Boyd third. Resinger won the second heat with Greenwalt second and Conner third. Worley won the third heat with Pete Koenig second and Adam Parmeley third. Thompson won the "B" main with Bohn second and Henson third.

In the Sportsmen class, Matt Eaton of Park Hills won his second feature of the season by holding off Kevin Mosier. Kenny Harris finished in third with Doug Savage fourth and Randy Forster fifth. They were followed by Scott Stuppy, Leonard Betsch, Jason Keller, Donnie Mosier and John Goodson. Eaton won the first heat race with Forster second and Stuppy third. Mosier won the second heat with Harris second and Kasey Nations third.

In the 600cc Multi class, Dereck King of Vienna, Ill. was the feature winner with Jimmy Bridgeman second, Brian Keen third, Austin Brown fourth and Tom Dickerman fifth. They were followed by Andy Moss, Brian Steele, Jeremy Boyer, David Chilton and Nathan Faenger.

King won the first heat with Keen second and Bridgeman third. Dickerman won the second heat with Joey Boyd second and Dustin Barks third.
Theran Pearl of Bismarck picked up his first feature win of the season in the Pure Street class as he edged out Mark Todd for the victory. Chris Cannon finished third with Larry Price fourth and Mike Savage fifth. They were followed by Chris Webb, Ryan Robbins, Bill Ames, Derek Shipman and Wayne Frymire. Jeff Beeson won the first heat race with Pearl second and Todd third. Savage won the second heat with Shipman second and Webb third.
