Lebanon, MO: The track is paved, the facilities are remodeled, and it’s time to fire up the engines for the first time this season! The first practice on the new asphalt racetrack will take place this Saturday, May 1, to kick off the 2010 racing season.

The track has undergone a huge facelift over the last year and a half including an all new asphalt racing surface that was completed last weekend. “We have tried to give our drivers and fans the most state of the art facility in the Midwest,” said track manager Brennon Willard. “The new surface is going to provide a smooth surface for our drivers with tons of grip, which should provide competitive, clean, and fast racing for our fans.”

The May 1st practice will be the first time that racecars are allowed on the new asphalt surface. Gates will open at 1 P.M., with practice running from 2 until 5 P.M. Fans are welcome to come watch practice for free in both the grandstands and tier parking. This will be the first of two practice days, the next one being the following Saturday, May 8.

The practice sessions are kicking off the events leading up to the “Grand Re-Opening Celebration” planned for opening night on May the 15th. For more information please visit the track’s website at www.i44speedway.net or call the speedway office at (417) 532-2060.
