Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 is canceled for Saturday, April 20th and Saturday, April 27th.

It is just too wet for this Saturday, April 20th along with the fact that the Mississippi River will approach the flood stage on Saturday that will put water over the road into the track.

The Mississippi River is forecasted to crest at 39 feet early next week and isn't expected to receed to a low enough level for the outer pit area to not be flooded until late next week. Therefore the World of Outlaw Sprint Car event for April 27th is also being canceled.

Action is scheduled to return to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on May 4th.

The WoO have almost never made up their Spring date, and I doubt they will do the same here. What's disgusting is that the race was cancelled based on a river forecast, without even waiting to see what actually happens.

No, what's disgusting is whiners like you ! Why don't you put up the money that they stand to loose instead of running your mouth! Sure didn't miss your whining feces while you were wherever you were!

I agree is sucks but they are 100 percent on that forecast. Go drive by the river now. Its way up there and by Thursday will be worse. Good call. Save teams money and fans too.

Rivers low and tracks dry. Just left there. Moonflow i agree. Little too early to call it IMO. Seems like we've been down this road of calling it well over a week ahead of time.

Alton and Grafton are flooding now. Emergency sandbagging is in the process. Go across the Lewis and Clark Bridge if you question that. I just came from there. Do not know where you drove. River is even up on the banks at the creek by East Alton by the flood gates and in fact when it poured Thursday it rose within 1 feet of the flood gate base. Its raining north plus snow melting and all that will come this way by the end of the week. Ive lived near the river long enough to know when they forcast MAJOR flooding they are always right on the money. Not minor....major.

FYI O brilliant one, the water will more than likely be over the pit road and Herky/Horine Rd. before the evening is over. Learn what a river level chart is and how to use it before you start whining!

Start your own track and you can do whatever you want. Then you can listen to other people like you bitch and moan about your decisions.

If you think hating on me for voicing my opinion is going to make me go away, stop posting, or stop going to the track, I got something for ya.

REALITY CHECK!!!

Don't like it, too bad. Go find another board to hate on.

Moonflow you just said it yourself your not going to stop going to the track. So I think what they are all telling you is suck it up big boy grow up and stop you whinning none stop about every dang little thing that doesn't go your way. This is what they do for a living and I think they know just how to run it. It's an outdoor sport weather always plays a big part so I guess if you don't like their calls they make you need to find you a nice indoor sport that always goes as planned. I always try to be nice about things to people but just sick of listening to grown men whine more than my grankids ever did!!!! And for the record I've missed racing over the winter too but will gladly wait until the weather settles down.

There's a handful of people on here who always have the same response to someone who has a differing opinion on how to do something.

"Stop whining" "Get your own track" "Go someplace else"

They also usually throw in some rude comments about intelligence, etc. Pretty much trying to compare unit sizes.

I think it's a mistake to call a race based on a river forecast, especially when you don't know if levees up north are going to hold, etc. Two levees up north break, that can drop the forecasted crest by two or three feet. That can be the difference between running and not running.

If you think this is possible then put up your money and take the chance!

God forbid someone get on here and voice their opinion about a tracks decision!!! Funny thing is theres more than one on here complaining about someone complaining. Geez just bcuz u disagree w someones input doesnt make them wrong! OR make u right. Kinda obvious whos bitter by the name calling and degrading of others. FOR THE RECORD YOU KNOW IT ALLS, the river was still not into the pits or on the road at 2 am sunday morning. and fryfan its a free country ill post or say whatever i want jack!!!:)

I think the local authorities would have a thing or two to say if I55 announced that they were going to try to race this Saturday with the river level forcast being what it is but I will leave that to others to kick around on here. I am not a fan of the Outlaws myself but several guys I work with had tickets for this race and they would like to know if there will be a make-up date, refunds or some other type of compensation.
