Greenville, IL (1/6/09) The I-70 QMA Quarter Midget Racing Association held its annual awards banquet Saturday January 3, 2009 at Mabry’s Restaurant in Greenville, IL.
The economy fluctuations affected some of the weekly and regional races and presented challenges for families to continue to support their child’s racing program during the 2008 season. Although times appeared to be tough, the members continued to support their clubs and allow them to have a successful 2008 season.
One of the highlights of the year had to be the promotional event during the Nationwide Race at Gateway International Speedway. The members were invited to participate in an on track display during the prerace ceremonies. The track also had their annual March Madness, hosted one of the Region 5 regional events and presented the inaugural Gateway 50.
I-70 QMA is a non-profit and member driven organization, it is successful because of the families that belong to the club and the personal time they devote to make the organization a success.
For the 2008 season, I-70 QMA will be honoring seven classes and champions along with recognizing twelve graduating novice drivers and four participating novice drivers for the 2008-racing season.
