Incase anyone forgot, the USAC and ARCA show is this weekend. 6ucks to be me... no dough to go yet again. It has been around 7 years since I have seen a mile race, and will be 8 before I see another. Unless I can talk the woman into goin on Sunday for the ARCA show.

But if anyone goes, can they post up some results if possible....THANKS!!!

I was up there on Wednesday. They had Allgaier's USAC car on display, but they said he doesn't have time to drive it anymore.

does anyone know why they no longer do the late model show up there?
 
Last I heard they are having the Crate Late Models running Sunday. Shane Cockrum and Scotty Britton will be there for the race. Good Luck to both of them..
 
I plan on going to Springfield for the ARCA race. Should have some pictures Sunday night!
 
They dont run the latemodels or the Outlaws on teh mile any more due to speeds. It was to dangerous for them cars to go that fast, they wern't made for it. As far as running DuQuoin... Not to sure. I have heard they do run the latemodels there. Be nice to see that again also. Last Fall Nats. race I saw on the mile was back in 99
 
Silver Crown Car Count

After going to this race for 32 years I was very surprised at the low car count this year. It used to be one of the most attended Silver Crown races, 39 cars last year and only 26 this year. Could this series be on the way out? They only had 10 races scheduled for 2008.

I hope DuQuoin brings in a few more cars.

The ARCA truck race only had 15.
 
I assume fuel prices play a large roll in it. I spoke with Ryan Jameison (SPRINTER) at Lee county about it and he told me they are on a limited schedual also due to that. Pretty sad, I think, that most tracks wont even up the pay even a small amount to help off set this. Most of our tracks only pay out enough to cover a pit pass if ya break or crash out. No tow fee either... So out of a whole 15-18 cars, ya get a whopping $25 bucks.... nice
