IMCA Texas Lone Star Series bound for Boyd April 17

BOYD, Texas (April 13) – The seventh event in the Texas Lone Star Series takes four IMCA divisions to Boyd Raceway for a Sunday, April 17 show.
IMCA Modifieds headline the afternoon event, racing for $400 to win. First place in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature pays $300, Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMods run for $200 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase a $150 top check.
National, regional, Allstar Performance state and special series points will be awarded. There are no entry or registration fees.
Pit gates open at 11 a.m., hot laps start at 2:30 p.m. and qualifying gets underway at 3 p.m. Pit passes are $25. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-11, with five and under admitted free.

Keith White tops standings for both the Modifieds and the Stock Cars, ahead of Gabe Tucker and Jeff Turner, respectively. Allen Montgomery and Charles Cosper are 1-2 in Hobby Stock standings and Bradley Poor leads Tom Earl Jr. in Southern SportMod points.
Modifieds challenge for shares of a $3,000 series point fund, which includes $600 for the champion. Providing $1,000 point funds are WCH Engines for the I-Stocks, HDC Race Cars and Fabrication for the Hobbies and Southwest Racing Specialties for the Southern SportMods. Each of those champions earns $250.
Completing the inaugural tour are events on May 29 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco and on July 3 at Texas Thunder Speedway in Killeen.
