Inaugural Spring Showdown $3,000 to win for Super Late Models at Ponderosa Speedway May 24

Junction City, KY-May 16, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce to further details concerning the inaugural running of the Spring Showdown event at the 3/8 mile D-Shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday May 24. The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models will race for $3,000 to win at this event.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Rain Dodger 40 at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY on Saturday May 25, which will also pay $3,000 to win for Super Late Models. The driver that accumulates the most points in the Super Late Model division between the pair of events will receive a $500 bonus for their weekend efforts.

On Friday May 24, Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY will present the 1st Annual Spring Showdown, paying $3,000 to win for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models in a 40 lap main event. Also on the racing program for Friday May 24 will be the Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models, D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman, and Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinders. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and may be rented at the track during driver registration and pill draw, which closes at 7:00 p.m.

Activities for the Friday May 24 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the May 24 Spring Showdown event in the general admission area will be $17 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, with children ages 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $35.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Spring Showdown at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday May 24, which will also pay $3,000 to win for Super Late Models. The driver that accumulates the most points in the Super Late Model division between the pair of events will receive a $500 bonus for their weekend efforts.
