(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer reached the double digit mark in wins on Friday night, August 6 at the Mount Pleasant Speedway in Mount Pleasant, Michigan! After running second in heat race action, Jeep rolled off fifth in the American Late Model Series (ALMS) feature event. It did not take the Pinconning, Michigan native long to find the front of the field, as he stormed to the lead on the first circuit. Jeep held off all challenges throughout the remainder of the race to pocket the $2,000 victory over Brian Ruhlman, Ryan Vanderveen, Zack Olger, and Eric Spangler!

On Saturday evening, the Iron Motorsports team entered another $2,000 to win ALMS showdown at the Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio. Jeep won his heat race in preliminary action and later started seventh in the main event at the Buckeye State venue. He was then able to work his way up four positions during the A-Main to secure a third place finish behind only winner Brian Ruhlman and runner-up Rusty Schlenk. Complete results from the ALMS doubleheader can be found online at www.americanlatemodelseries.com.

"It was a great weekend for the Iron Motorsports team, especially at Mount Pleasant," commented Van Wormer this week via telephone. "Any time you can win close to home, that makes it more special. I think we are finally caught up rebuilding everything from the Summer Nationals and I am really excited about Florence this weekend. I have had some good runs there in the past, so we will see what happens. Hopefully, we can qualify well on Friday night and start up front in the heat race because that is the key to the entire weekend."

The #55 team has turned their single focus this week towards the upcoming 'North/South 100,' which will be held on Friday and Saturday, August 13-14 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the annual crown jewel event, which pays a whopping $50,000 to the winner and $2,500 to start. Qualifying will take place at the Cincinnati area venue on Friday evening, while heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap 'North/South 100' are scheduled for Saturday night. A reminder... the Brave the Shave Campaign has kicked off online at www.ahead4acure.com. Be sure to stop by the newly launched site to donate money in Jeep's name or your favorite driver's name. Proceeds from the campaign go directly to three different cancer charities. Log onto www.ahead4acure.com for much more information!

"I really encourage fans to visit the A Head 4 A Cure website and donate money for their favorite driver," added Jeep. "We passed the helmet at Oakshade last Saturday and raised $798.00, so I would like to thank everyone publicly that found it in their hearts to donate at Oakshade. The plan is to pass the helmet again at Florence this weekend, so if you would like to donate towards the fight against cancer, it would be greatly appreciated!"
