Jonesboro, Arkansas (07/22/10) – Jeff Taylor spent last week piloting the #5 Turnbull Motorsports/Taylor Chassis Open Wheel Modified in the Dacotah Classic Modified Tour, and by the time the week was over he had a win and a top five point’s finish to show for his efforts.

Jeff picked up his first Open Wheel Modified win of the 2010 season on Sunday night at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, North Dakota in the #5t Ed Turnbull owned Taylor Chassis, and he did it in a big way as he topped a field of 81 entries. The opening round of the Dacotah Classic Modified Tour saw Jeff start sixth in his heat and advance to a second place finish to earn the pole starting spot for the first consolation event, which he won. Via his consolation event win, Jeff locked into the ninth starting spot for the feature. In the main event, he would waste little time racing his way to the front and went on to take the lead and the win over Matt Brack and Will Brack.

Monday night found Jeff was in action at Estevan Motor Speedway in Estevan, SK for Round #2 of the Dacotah Classic Modified Tour. After charging from tenth to second in his heat race, Taylor started at the front of a b-main event. Unfortunately he would be taken out by another car in the b-main, which brought his night to an early end.

On Tuesday night, Round #3 of the Dacotah Classic Modified Tour Speedweek invaded Basin Speedway in Williston, North Dakota. Jeff would race his way into the starting grid for the main event, however early in the feature, he would once again receive contact from another car that would bring his night to an early end as he was scored with a 21st place finish.

For the second straight night, Taylor entered a Dacotah Classic Modified Tour Speedweek event at Basin Speedway in Williston, North Dakota on Wednesday night. Via preliminary action Jeff would race his way to a front row starting spot for the feature event. At the drop of the green flag he would take control of the top spot, and would lead the entire race until a late race caution allowed Shawn Strand to slip by to take the lead. Strand went on to lead the final five laps as Jeff Taylor scored a solid, second place finish.

The Dacotah Classic Modified Tour rolled into Southwest Speedway in Dickinson, North Dakota on Thursday night. Jeff would once again qualify for the main event against a stout field of cars. He went on to record another good finish as he crossed the checkered flag in the 8th position.

Jeff concluded the Dacotah Classic Modified Tour on Friday night at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, North Dakota. After winning his consolation event Taylor locked into the feature. After battling throughout the top ten for much of the feature, Jeff advanced to a fourth place finish behind event winner, Brendan Gemmil, Jay Noteboom, and Brian Mullen. With over 70 cars participating in the weeklong event, Jeff finished an impressive 5th in the final point's standings.

Jeff would like to extend a special thanks to Robbie, Deon Tyson, Jared Cole, Ed Turnbull, Monte Bolton, and everyone at Turnbull Motorsports for providing great equipment for him to pilot during the Speedweek.

This weekend, July 23rd-24th Jeff will return to action in his #5 Jeff Taylor Motorsports/Larry Shaw Chassis Crate Late Model in the Isle of Capri Crate Late Model Series Presented By Bad Boy Mowers at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. On Friday night a $1,500 to win program will be held, while Saturday will see a $2,000 to win event contested. For more information, please visit www.BatesvilleMotorSpeedway.net .
