Farmington, MO (October 6, 2007) -- St Francois County Raceway Sprint Champion Joey Montgomery, Fredricktown, MO, collected his second Queen’s Royale.

Thirty-three cars were on hand for the 12th running of the event. With past winners Danny Smith (2000, 2006) and Tim Montgomery (2002, 2005). Other notables in the field included Dean Jacobs, Jesse Hockett, 2007 All-Star Champion Greg Wilson, and 2007 Midwest All-Star Sprint Series Champion Jerrod Hull.

In a dominating fashion, Montogmery started on the pole position for the 30 lap event, by way of his win in the dash. He also won his heat for another “hat trick” in 2007.

The feature had it’s trouble in getting started as both the front row drivers wanted the lead in a hurry. Rod Crabdree, Desloge, MO, started on the outside of the front row next to Montgomery. Start one would be called off for a jump start. Start two would come to a halt as Jummy Hurley, Springfield, IL, and A J Bruns, Lincoln, IL got together coming underneath the flagstand. Hurley was able to continue and Bruns out for the night. As they say third time is the charm. It was as the race took off and never headed. From this point on Montgomery put on a clinic in racing excellence. Using all the racetrack available to him, he lapped cars all the way up to fourth place finisher, and 2006 winner Danny Smith. Moving the car at will and keeping lapped cars between him and second place finisher, former All-Star Champion Dale Blaney, Montgomery secured the win.

The consolation event looked more like the main event at a local show. Last years winner Danny Smith, Greg Wilson and Jerrod Hull made their way to the A-main by finishing in the top four. These drivers started deep in the field (rows 9 – 10). All would make great strides through the field and finish well. Danny Smith would finish 4th, Greg Wilson finished 6th, and Hull made it to the top 10 with an 8th place finish.

Modified Division action was just as spectacular as the Sprints. Kasey Nations, Park Hills, MO gathered another win and closed out the season. Nations would battle early leader Jeremy Greenwalt, Potosi, MO. Also in the hunt for the front, Billy Smith, Park Hills, MO. Smith was the Modified Division runner-up in the Championship Chase. Early caution for Mike Francis, Fredericktown, MO as he spun his car in turn four, but would continue until lap 12 when he tangled with Mike Abney of Viburnum. Nations worked to the front and made it look easy from there.
