Joey Montgomery Wins 6th Feature of Year at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (Aug. 6, 2005) Joey Montgomery of Fredericktown picked up his sixth feature win of the season at the St. Francois County Raceway after holding off Tommy Worley Jr. of Bismarck for the victory. Steve Short captured third with A.J. Bruns fourth and Keith Burch fifth. They were followed by Kent Buckley, Danny Long, Tyler Thompson, Greg Burns and Dustin Adams.
Thompson won the first heat race with Joey Montgomery second and Bryan Matthews third. Nathan Higgins won the second heat with Bruns second and Bob Thoman third. Short won the third heat with Worley second and Timmy Montgomery third. Bruns won the trophy dash with Short second and Joey Montgomery third.
Joey Montgomery leads the current point standings with 732 points over his brother, Timmy Montgomery (672). They are followed by Worley (664), Jimmy Hurley (572), Jason Keith (562), Burch (498), Short (488), Jerrod Hull (488), Thoman (446) and Daniel Adler (386).
In the Modified class, John Bohn of Farmington picked up the checkered flag in the feature with Mike Francis second, Kenny Kennedy third, Chris Boyd fourth and Scott Weber fifth. They were followed by Brent Thompson, Gary Haynes, Tommy Worley Sr., Leo Kiefer and Brad McKinnon.
Bohn won the first heat race with Alan Conner second and Boyd third. Kennedy won the second heat with Jeremy Greenwalt second and Worley Sr. third. Thompson won the third heat with Weber second and Billy Smith third. Jon Paul Reando of Festus won the fourth heat (his first-ever heat race win in a modified) with Jim Fisher second and Rick Ruch third.
Francis leads the Modified class points race with 732 points. He is followed by Greenwalt (720), Worley (628), Kennedy (622), Burch (576), Bohn (564), Thompson (526), Conner (444), Smith (438) and Pete Koenig (390).
In the Sportsmen class, Matt Eaton of Park Hills was the feature winner with Kevin Mosier second, Doug Savage third, Randy Forster fourth and Leonard Betsch fifth. They were followed by Kasey Nations, Kyle Stolzer, Donnie Mosier, Dustin Homan and Chris West.
Betch won the first heat with Savage second and West third. Kevin Mosier won the second heat with Eaton second and Nations third.
In the Sportsmen points race, Eaton is the leader with 658 points. He is followed by Savage (630), Nations (608), Forster (594), Kevin Mosier (588), Betsch (572), Donnie Mosier (458), Kenny Harris (274), Stolzer (262) and West (178).
In the 600cc Multi class Saturday night, Tom Dickerman was the feature winner with Kara King second, Joey Boyd third, Jimmy Stearns fourth and Keith Steele fifth. They were followed by Rodney Williams, Brian Steele, Andy Moss, Ray Statler and Brian Keen.
Dickerman won the first heat race with Stearns second and Brian Steele third. King won the second heat with Boyd second and Williams third.
Andy Moss leads the Multis in points with 614. He is followed by Dickerman (596), Boyd (534), Dustin Barks (512), Williams (492), Jeremy Boyer (396), Statler (372), Jimmy Bridgeman (364), Derek King (342) and Keen (318).
In the Pure Street class, Jeff Beeson of Benton captured his second feature win of the season at SFCR after holding off Michael Abney for the victory. Mike Savage finished in third with Mark Todd fourth and Pete Koenig fifth. They were followed by Derek Shipman, Jason Mueller, Chris Cannon, Jeremy Womble and Ryan Robbins.
Abney won the first heat race with Todd second and Koenig third. Beeson won the second heat with Wayne Frymire second and Chris Webb third.
Mark Todd remains the points leader in the Pure Street class with 668 points. He is followed by Webb (584), Abney (582), Shipman (514), Theran Pearl (492), Bill Skaggs (454), Savage (420), Robbins (406), Greg Chilton (326) and Josh Skaggs (320).
