Watertown, South Dakota (08/23/11) – Over the past two weeks Jon has been in action in the opening rounds of the 2011 Casey's General USMTS Hunt in his #14 Tesch Motorsports/B&E Concrete/GRT/Sput's Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified, and on Friday night he claimed the win at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin).

Below are blog-style updates of last week's tour events:
August 17th, 2011 - Jon resumed action on the Casey's General USMTS Hunt on Wednesday night at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) in a $2,000-to-win, 40 lap event. The night would start great for the team as Tesch charged from last in his heat race to claim the win, which locked him into the feature's redraw. In the redraw, Jon would receive the pole starting spot for the main event with Trent Follmer joining him on the front row.
As the feature went green Tesch jumped to the lead and would build a solid advantage by the time that he began to catch the backmarker on lap 13. Over the next several laps Jason Hughes would work his way up to the second spot, and the duo began to battle for the lead. Lap 28 would see Hughes and Ryan Gustin use lapped traffic to their advantage as they slipped past Tesch as he was pushed back to the third spot. Jon would go on to record a third place finish behind race winner, Hughes, and Gustin. Even though it wasn't the win he wanted it was still a solid point's night for the team in The Hunt.
August 18th, 2011 - Thursday night found Jon at Rice Lake Speedway (Rice Lake, Wisconsin) for a $2,000-to-win, Casey's General USMTS Hunt event. The $2,000-to-win event drew a field of 35 competitors, and heat race action saw Jon win his heat race to lock into the redraw for the feature. In the redraw, he would receive the fifth starting spot. He would battle in the top five for the duration of the feature before recording a fourth place finish behind race winner, Ryan Gustin, Ryan Ruter, & Dustin Boney.
August 19th, 2011 - After flirting with victory lane several times over the past several races, Tesch was finally able to seal the deal on Friday night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) as he topped the $2,000-to-win event. Forty-two Open Wheel Modifieds entered the event, and Jon started the night by winning his heat race to lock into the redraw, where he would select the second starting spot for the 40 lap feature alongside pole-sitter, Dustin Boney. Jon would find his way to the lead early in the feature event before racing to the victory, which came over Johnny Scott, Ryan Gustin, Tim Donlinger, and Jason Krohn. The win was his second of the season.
August 20th, 2011 - Saturday evening found the #14 GRT House Car with Jon Tesch behind the wheel in action at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) in another $2,000-to-win, Casey's General USMTS event. Twenty-eight competitors registered for the event, and in heat race action, Tesch advanced one spot from his fifth starting spot to a fourth place finish. The heat performance was enough to lock him into the feature in the 14th starting position.
At the drop of the green flag Tesch would begin to slowly work his way forward, and during the course of the feature he would gain a total of six spots on his way to an 8th place finish at the checkered flag.
August 21st, 2011 - Jon concluded a busy, five day stretch with the Casey's General USMTS tour on Sunday night at Nobles County Speedway (Worthington, Minnesota). Twenty-six cars entered the event, and after winning the first heat race, Tesch locked into the redraw for the feature event, where he received the fourth starting spot. In the feature the leaders would spend a majority of the feature in lapped traffic as they battled for the lead. By the time that the checkered flag dropped Tesch was shown with a third place finish behind race winner, Jasoh Krohn, and Ryan Gustin.
Jon is currently third in the latest Hunt standings behind Ryan Gustin and Kelly Shryock. Full results and the latest standings are available at www.USMTS.com.
