Just A Little Observation

It was only my second time at Pevely this year (the other was when the opening night at Farmington got cancelled due to some facilities issues) therefore I'm not real sure what a normal crowd looks like. I sat on the backstretch and it seemed like a decent amount of people there and in turn 3.

As mentioned earlier people may not have gone this past week for various reasons however the only reason I was there is because of MOWA.

Funny to me how people on this site are always saying bring the sprints in and the stands will be full! I just watched the video from Saturday night in Pevely and I guess the people have spoken when it comes to sprints running in this are because the stands looked really really BARE to me! Just saying! Im sure theres going to be the argument that's its a holiday weekend or its not the WOO!

On Sunday night, Quincy had, by far, their biggest crowd of the year for MOWA sprints and the WAR non-wings.

We talked to the guys from MOWA and they said attends is down everywhere they had been.Seems every track has had low attends all year NOT just here

Go many "select" baseball softball teams these days. Parents aren't taking their kids to the races anymore. Trying to raise the next sports star in 3rd grade. I feel extremely fortunate that I get to take my boys to a variety of different dirt tracks in the area.
Graduation Holliday weekends are tough to draw huge crowds.

Just to note, the stands, I would say, were about 90% full for the World of Outlaws. That's the type of crowd people think of....but you're not going to get it with MOWA Sprints. But still a good show, from what I heard. I was at the Show-Me. ;)

I went to I-55 Saturday night and I thought they had a great show and a pretty good turn out. This was by far the best racing I have seen all year long in every class start to finish. Sprint cars was awesome, late models had passing all over the place and Korte and Manville put on a great show, and the modified feature was a great show as well. Start to finish in the feature no cautions. There was some great racing up and down the board.

like one poster said we need to be happy with what we have--I run highland and Fayette co...both joints have had good racing but highland has a bigger crowed,,Fayette co. some very tight racing---just happy at my age to be able to get off the rocking chair n go racin LOL

I thought there was a good crowd there. The pits were full and lots had to pit in places there would not pit in. Good car count in most classes. It was a good show.

Not going to sit here and go back and forth with you but maybe you need to watch the video Jimmy posted of the flip! If that's what you call 70-75% full I don't believe I need to get my eyes checked maybe its you!! I have seen the stands with more people in them than that at a regular show! Your right I wasn't there and refuse to go to a track when the sprints are there! In fact I have been to 4 races this year and only 1 has been at a local track this year! Like I said Im not going to go back and forth with you when its very obvious you are a huge fan of the sprints and no matter what you see with your own eyes you have blinders on!
Some people just love to talk out of their ass.

There's no talking out of nothing! If you people can not watch the video that I mentioned and see for yourselves that those stands was not packed as people have claimed then you my friend are talking out of your *** and have blinders on!! Yes you are very much correct I was not there as I have stated before. Not sure how that makes a difference but ok! In the video it shows 95% off the stands as the video goes along and I do not see where people are saying they was 70-75% full!! Just don't get it! For a sprint show that everyone wanted that said the stands would fill if they showed up I guess they got proved wrong by the video!! Wake up people and look at the video instead of living in a cave !!

I'm on the same page as faustfan....stands were at 40 % max, I've said the same thing over the past several years and that this sport is failing and the only way to help it is start attracting car counts of 120+ and the area's top 3 tracks need to work together for a fri,sat and a sunday shows and pay a points system like allied used to do back when it was going strong..working on them 2 things is the best place to start

see unlike highland I55 has grandtands on both sides of the track and there was also a threat of rain if you weren't there you are part of the problem

If they ever have a USAC Sprint/Midget Combo show, you will have to park out on the highway....JMO!...:)

I spoke with the guys at MOWA about crowds up north. I gave him the number of folks in the stands from the week before this show when it was cold. They said any track up north would be thrilled to have that many. Typical up there is a couple hundred on a good night 100 or less on a average night. The car counts are down nation wide as are the fan counts. We are constantly working on ideas to bring more people into the sport. My best advice bring a car load with you when you go to the races. The races have been great all year in ALL classes which is directly related to the talented teams and drivers we are lucky enough to have in the Midwest.
