git r dun

Is it just me or would others like to see the racing start @ 8:00 rather than 7:00? I realize the goal for track management is to get the people in, give them a good show and get them home at a decent hour. With the heat and the sun being so extreme the last few weeks running the heat races at 7:00 is really taking an early toll on the track conditions. All of the heat races and dashes were ran last night before dark. The track seems to fade away very fast under the sun. If you were to start the races @ 8:00 rather than 7:00 I believe the track would hold up a lot better. I also believe most people would not mind staying at the track until 11:00 versus the 10:00 we got out last night after everything was over. It is also very hot in the stands under the sun ,not to mention your are facing the sun while trying to watch a race. The sun begins to go down shortly after 8:00 and would make a better start time for the races. I just wanted to throw this suggestion out there and get others opinion on it.

well look at this way there are some of the drivers that drive 3 hours to get to the track.and if they would do more then just go out and put a couple of loads of water on the track maybe it would hold up better as far as i'v seen they don't grade or liley till or sheeps foot the track any more and i bet its been years since they've walk'd the track to pick rocks out of it too.

Maybe you can let the track know of a better prepared track so they can go check it out.I hear some of them get a real pretty black and you can go real fast on them.I love trains.choo choo!!!!!!!!1

I know I loved it ending a bit early and the racing was very good in all classes. I guess Corey could go to Malden and get some pointers, you know water last weeks track and let them have at it...:)

no it's not all about more water on the track it's just haveing a track to race on till atleast the feature.i can see it getting black in the feature but not in hot laps.

Dude....you are off base. They have a good track more than they don't. Much better than most places we go.
That is correct and maybe this weekend it might be good to move it back a hour as some tracks are cancelling because Ma-Nature is hammering us. I still think its nice to get done early most nights though, early usually means less yellows and reds which both ****..

just start at 8:00 while its hot other than that the track has been allright for he has to work with like the very hot temps ****ing the water up out of the track i say he does do pretty good for that

I have to agree on this topic (especially during these excessive heat days). I notice that Tri-City moved their start time back by 30 minutes for tomorrow night. I think that is a GREAT choice!! With pill draw being from 4:30 to 5:30 it forces drivers to be there soooo early. I'd say move pill draw back to either 5-6 or even 5:30-6:30 while we are experience such HOT temps. As a fan, I'd rather stay later than have to be in the sun for so long. I know it's not a lot cooler when the sun goes down but it helps a lot when you aren't sitting there baking in the sun (which is what the fans are doing on the front stretch/grandstand side). I think it might also help draw in a larger crowd. I have heard several people say that they just can't go and sit in the sun for hours watching the races (waiting for the sun to go down). Just a suggestion here but I agree that it's a good idea.

This is what Tri-City is doing on Friday: (I like it)

This Friday July 22nd Tri-City Speedway Start Times:

Pit Gates Open @ 5:30pm
Front Gates Open @ 6:00pm

Drivers Meeting @ 7:00
Pill Draw Closes @ 7:15
Hot Laps After Drivers Meeting
Racing Immediately Following Hot Laps (Approximately 7:45)

i very seldom sign in here or put my 2 cents in but i do agree,
it would make for more enjoyable racin with the 8pm start
as long as we are in this heatwave
