Kasey Burch Captures First Career Modified Feature Victory

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (April 16, 2005) Eighteen-year-old Kasey Burch of Farmington celebrated his first career feature win in the Modified class Saturday night after holding off a pack of veteran racers to pick up the checkered flag. Mike Francis of Fredericktown settled for second place with Joe Giesler of St. Mary third, Jeremy Greenwalt of Potosi fourth and Billy Smith of Park Hills fifth. They were followed by Steve Maisel, Tommy Worley Sr., Dean Resinger, Billy Mayberry and Mike Crader.

"I just drove the best race of my life," exclaimed a thrilled Burch after he climbed out of his car. "I wanted to thank all the fans and I love everybody!"
Burch won the first heat race with Chris Boyd second, and Alan Conner third. John Bohn won the second heat with Maisel second and Greenwalt third.

Danny Resinger won the third heat with Dean Resinger second and R.C. Hovis third. Giesler won the fourth heat race with Francis second and Brian Worley third. Smith won the "B" main with Crader second and Worley third.

The updated points standings in the Modified class has Burch now the leader with 114 points followed by Francis (102), Smith (100), Giesler (98), Worley Sr. (92), Greenwalt (92), Crader (72), Bohn (68), Hovis (68), Mayberry (68), Maisel (64), Danny Resinger (54) and Pete Koenig (48).

Jerrod Hull of Sikeston was the Sprint Car feature winner. Hull started from the pole in the feature and battled Timmy Montgomery of Fredericktown to pick up the victory. Montgomery finished in second with Jason Keith third, Tommy Worley Jr. fourth and Joey Montgomery fifth. They were followed by Steve Short, Jimmy Hurley, Tim Moss, Keith Burch and Daniel Adler.

Moss won the first heat race with Hull second and Tiffany Wyzard third. Keith won the second heat with Timmy Montgomery second and Hurley third. Short won the third heat with Worley Jr. second and Greg Burns third. Hull won the dash with Timmy Montgomery second and Short third. Bryan Matthews won the "B" main with Adler second and A.J. Bruns third.
Timmy Montgomery and Jerrod Hull are now tied for the points lead in the Sprint Car class with 110 points each they are followed by Joey Montgomery (104), Worley Jr. (104), Short (96), Keith (92), Hurley (72), Bob Thoman (66), Kent Buckley (64), Adler (60), Moss (58), Burch (56) and Derek O'Dell (50).

In the Sportsmen class, Matt Eaton drove his #53 to victory lane after holding off Doug Savage in the feature. Savage captured second with Leonard Betsch third, Kyle Stolzer fourth and Randy Forster fifth. They were followed by Kenny Harris, Kevin Mosier, Kasey Nations, Bruce Boren and Tim Phares.

Eaton won the first heat with Savage second and Stolzer third. Betsch won the second heat with Forster second and Harris third.

Eaton is now the points leader in the Sportsmen class with 112 points followed by Savage (108), Betsch (102), Nations (94), Harris (90), Forster (88), Stolzer (86), Mosier (74), Dustin Homan (42), Boren (34) and Donnie Mosier (34).

In the Pure Street class, Derek Shipman captured the checkered flag in the feature with Mark Todd second, Chris Webb third, Bill Skaggs fourth and Mark Sisson fifth. They were followed by Dale Cole, Jason Illiges, Michael Abney, Lenny Terrell and Allen King.

Todd won the first heat with Terry James second and Webb third. Shipman won the second heat with Jason Mueller second and King third.

Webb remains the points leader in the Pure Street class with 106 points followed by Todd (98), Bill Skaggs (96), Shipman 90), Cole (84), Sisson (84), Terrell (78), Mueller (74), Chad DeSpain (56) and Ryan Robbins (60).
In the 600cc Multi class, Casey Barnhouse of Farmington sailed to victory in the feature with Tom Dickerman second, Rodney Williams third, Matt Dotson fourth and David Chilton fifth. They were followed by Jimmy Bridgeman, Brian Keen, Andy Moss, Joey Boyd and Ray Statler.

Barnhouse won the first heat race with Chilton second and Statler third. Jeremy Boyer won the second heat with Dotson second and Dickerman third. Williams won the third heat with Andy Moss second and Keen third.
Dickerman is the new points leader in the Multi class with 92 points followed by Chilton (86), Joey Boyd (76), Boyer (74), Eric Ziegler (68), Statler (66), Moss (64), Keen (62), Derek King (58), Barnhouse (58) and Dustin Barks (56).
