KHOM & The Point Sponsored Late Model Special Provides Great Night of Racing Entertainment at West P

West Plains, MO The Show-Me Racin' Series brought a field of 24 late models to West Plains Motor Speedway as KHOM and The Point sponsored the special event along with a full points program for the weekly classes, May 5th.
After a seat shakin' 30-lap feature Jim Fulp of Crane, MO, emerged triumphant over a tough field of 22 late models taking the green flag in the main event marred by several cautions including one involving a firey trip to the infield. Coming in second was Justin Wells of Aurora, followed by Ken Essary of Cape Fair, MO, Leslie Essary of Crane, MO and Daniel Barton of Aurora. An additional recap will follow.
Jason Snodgrass of Mtn. Home, AR, took all the IMCA Modified feature honors of the evening. Coming in second was Bill Adams followed by Brandon Ball, both of West Plains, Carmon Vincent of Moody, MO, Chris Piper of West Plains, Brian Judd of Caulfield, MO, Austin Smith of Mammoth Spring, AR, Matt Barry of West Plains, Anthony Carnal of Cabool, MO, Ben Ledgerwood of Birch Tree, MO, Lonnie Judd and Carl Murphy, both of Caulfield, Kevin Collins and Jerry Croney, both of West Plains, Joey Smith of Pomona, MO, David Mallonee of West Plains, Bobby Skinner of Moody, Danny Peterson of West Plains, Richard Smith of Williford, AR, and Jason Brigman of West Plains, rounded out the field.
The Super Stock feature winner this week was Stan Ellison of West Plains, followed by Dee Kelly of Birch Tree, MO, Andy Collins of West Plains, Jason Johnson of Hardy, AR, and Kevin Collins of West Plains. Rounding out the field was Clint Seaman of Imboden, AR, Jeff North of Rogersville, MO, Johnny Houart of Gideon, MO, Brandon Ball and Bobby Bryant, both of West Plains, Tim Winchester of Gideon , MO, Bill Dixon of Thayer, MO, Herman Kelly of Birch Tree, Doyle Frost of Alton, MO, Jerry Buck of Paragould, AR, and Derald Kelly of Birch Tree.
Shane Hitt of Birch Tree, won the Hobby Stock feature with Dexter Frost of West Plains taking second. Rounding out the field was Chuck Russell of West Plains, Tony Krusen of Thayer, Rick Cooper of Thornfield, MO, Jessie Shearin of Blue Springs, MO, Brock Frost of Birch Tree, Nicolas Black of Van Buren, MO, Dean Smith of Mammoth Spring, AR, Korey Whitelock of Alton, Scott Todd of Hardy, and Kenneth Rhoads of West Plains.
Daniel Carter of Mtn. Home, AR, won the Cruiser feature this week with Clifford Collins, II, of West Plains, taking second, followed by Chadney Holder of Imboden, AR, Scott Austin of Qulin, MO, Sissy Ratliff Seaman of Imboden, Mark Doiron, Rhonda Gunter, Clifford Collins, and John Stiner, all of West Plains.
Youth Hobby Stock feature winner was Austin White of Willow Springs, MO, followed by Ben Piper of West Plains, William Piper of Birch Tree and Rowdy Trivitt of Williford, AR.
Next week will be the Hirsch Farm Center sponsored full weekly points program. Both locations for the Hirsch Farm Center will be represented and all classes will be running. Gates will open at 5 p.m., hotlaps are set for 6:30 p.m., with racing at 7 p.m. Adult admission will be $8, senior citizens $5, kids 7-11 $2 and those 6 and under are always free at West Plains Motor Speedway. The track is located 6 miles south of West Plains on US Hwy. 63.
