Kloos' tires were found to be ILLEGAL!!!!

B5Shepp at Pevely was all about 20s and a ring of mud around the bottom that became a ring of traction (earlier in the night it was too greasy to race down there).

Not saying those guys dope or not...just saying it wouldn't have helped that night at all.

The answer is in the track prep...go back to St. Charles days of watering the tracks!! Leave the traction in the dirt and forget about the tire game. Grow a pair and throttle up.

Chewin Dirt, you would of loved haubstadt last night. Plenty of traction in that dirt last night.

That guy should give classes on how to prepare a racing surface on dirt. I have never seen a show there that had a dried up slick top to bottom track. Considering the temps and amount of cars and they still had a racy track. Take note track promoters!!

Wish I could have made it...been to Haubstadt 4 times and the track is always good (even with sprint cars!). I'm pretty sure I saw a Summernationals race that had two cushions. One was half-way up the track and the other was closer to the wall...pretty wild stuff!!

some tracks...especially that one, put on good racin when the track is heavy...a lot of tracks are very 1 groove dominant when they are heavy though. example in my eyes would be i-44 when it had dirt on it. mike44 may be able to back me up on this one. i was down there 3-4 years ago for the mars/ump clash and the larry phillips memorial, awesome racing top to bottom, the cushion would bite ya if ya weren't careful, but if you hit it right it was fast as heck. went down there the next year for a woolms show, track was extremely heavy and was 1 groove as all heck. i was kinda disappointed....but it was the fastest dang track i'd ever seen though, but racing stank....so beware what ya wish for on them heavy tracks...some are good and some are not so good...but tri state is awesome!!

The track is always a multi groove racy surface. It takes skill and knowledge to do that. I like a good dry slick track too as long as it is not a locked down rubbered up track. That brings out the real drivers

I've been to Haubstadt too many times to count, they have all been good races. I'm sad that I didn't take a day off to go last night, but I saw a great show at Farmer City on Fri. I just hope for good things at TCS this Fri.!!!! Anybody but Bloomer.... PLZ!!!

96fast,
You're correct in the fact that I-44 could be multi-grooved or locked down to a certain degree but always fast. The USMTS guys said it was too fast. The year that Clint Smith won the WoOLMS race there he said it was too fast to provide good, side by side racing. But it was more often set up great and had some great racing. Most of us around here really miss it. But my wife and I try to get to I-55 and Tri City as much as we can and we see some great racing at both.

that track was awesome...and i agree with ya 100% that it was usually always good racing there...one of my definite favorites...god i miss it....and seeing phillips master that high side... wow

Wait til you hear their side before you jump to conclusions. Suspended 2 months and a $2500 fine from what I heard. As always...there are 3 sides to every story. Yours, mine, and the truth.

Well, its been over two weeks since this started. We haven't heard a peep from the guilty party. The lab test were ran, a verdict rendered, suspension and fines were handed down. And evidently no appeal was filed. Sounds to me like we all know the truth already and there are really no conclusions for us to jump to.

Maybe its just me.... but if I were falsely accused, convicted and sentenced, I would be raising 7 kinds of hell long before now.

Thanks UMP for catching him, but the fine and suspension are an insult. Should have been a year suspension and atleast $5K.

there were multiple appeals filed, which is why it has taken so long. you haven't heard a peep from the guilty party...how does it look that UMP has NEVER issued an official statement through all of this? Everything has been reported through Jimmy Dearing or Dirt on Dirt.

I don't know, you told us not to jump to conclusions. Maybe you need a dose of your own medicine.

If this is true (and I'm not saying it isn't) he was still determined illegal. No "side of the story" in the world is gonna change the results of the lab test and the verdict. Its UMP's courthouse, and UMP is who they need to convince. Not me. As far as I'm concerned, he cheated.

Multiple appeals???? Sounds like fishing in the dark to me. If you can't beat the rap with one excuse, try another.

I might be a little slow, but what is the 2 month suspension? I mean what's he suspended from? Didn't he win two features at Highland this past Saturday night? Not picking at him, always liked Kloos, don't like a cheater, would like to hear his side.

you complain that you haven't heard a peep from the "guilty party," referring to Kloos/Gerstner. I simply stated that we also haven't heard a peep from UMP. don't know what "my own medicine" is referring to.
