"I always like going to Billings," he said. "It seems like during this part of the trip each season there's always good friends around. We enjoy going there. We were a little disappointed where we qualified, but we felt pretty good.

"I got into fifth or sixth and rode there for a little while early in the feature. I got a couple more positions on a restart a little later. The only spot on the track we really had an issue with was late in turn four. I didn't get a good restart and Brad (Sweet) got around me. Overall, we had a good night though."

Kinser's fourth-place finish was his fourth top five of the season.

He opened the weekend the previous night at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., during the Rushmore Outlaw Showdown. Kinser timed in 12th quickest and ended fourth in a heat race to line up 12 th in the A Main.

"We struggled to find the balance we wanted all night," he said. "We pretty much ran around where we started in the heat race and the main event and just couldn't make progress."

Kinser finished 14th.

"I'm glad we ended the weekend with a good run in Billings," he said. "You always take whatever confidence boost you can get. It's been a struggle this season. I thought we were going to be a little bit better, but there's so many good cars. You have to stay positive."

Kinser and the World of Outlaws venture to Washington this weekend with races on Friday and Saturday at Skagit Speedway in Alger for the Outlaw Energy Showdown and Monday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma.
