Lake Ozark Speedway Report

The Bales Racing 305 sprint team made the trek up to LOS along with a few others from Fredrock, Jason Hunt, Derick Shipman, and Danny Resinger.

With the track receiving 3 1/2 inches of rain on Friday, raining out Saturday night, the track was extreemly heavy. Even with relentless work from the track crew, it would go back to being a holed up mess in just a couple of laps. Kory had trouble early. We drew pill 71 of 75 when we drove in the gate and got hung up trying to find a place to pit, huuuggeee turn out. We started on the back of heat 3 and after two laps Kory had passed two cars and made it up to 6th. Going into turn 1 on lap 3, he hooked a rut, got up on the bike, and never got it back. He went into the wall wing first and cart wheeled two times. Battered and bruised, but for the most part unhurt, we drug what was left into the trailer.

Jason had also had a tough pill draw, starting deep in his heat. After a couple laps, he and another car got together coming off of turn 2. I didn't see it personally, but there were several reports that he was ran over. He took a violent tumble down the back stretch at over 100 mph. Jason was unhurt, but the number 19 had seen better days. They helped us drag ours in the trailer and we returned the favor.

Danny, like us, had trouble from the word go. Don't know if it was the track being as heavy as it was or another problem, but he couldn't keep the driveline together. He had problems all night and couldn't make the main.

Derrick faired the best of all of us. He made the feature and by the end of the A-main was making some really respectable laps around the big track, finishing 14th.

It was a tough night for drivers and fans a like. The un-LOS heavy conditions were causing all kinds of problems. There were probably between 10-15 sprints on their lid with the fence getting torn down twice, delaying the action for around an hour each time. When all of the carnage was over, the show wrapped up around 2 am.

Thanks for the report.... bummer on all the car carnage, but glad all the drivers were in good shape and walked away.

Congrats to Derek on your A Main run!!!!
