Local sports media ignore Dirt In December Nationals

A three night sports event at the Dome with big crowds - and absolutely no coverage from TV or newspapers here. Pathetic.

Maybe a high school basketball tournament should be held in the infield during the races in order to get some local reporting.

It was on fox. 2 news Thursday and Friday because I saw it at nine. Don’t know about sat

I don't recall seeing any TV commercials leading up to the event, so maybe it's a deal where you have to buy advertising time in exchange for the network to give it news coverage?

Asked one of the local TV sports guys several years ago why they didn't cover the local racing action. His reply was that they considered it one rung up the ladder from pro wrestling, damn near punched him in the face.

Its offensive to the majority. I mean cars with american flag wraps, solutes to the veterans and prayer before racing.

Isn't racing the most watched sport in america between nascar, NHRA, local racing and what not?

St Louis media folks usually have a boss asking reporters "is this a money-making event?" If the answer is yes, "are they advertising with us?" If the answer is no, "then do something on the ones actually playing ball with us."

If you remember when Bob Wente had one of his big shows, you'd see commercials leading up to it. And then on the night of the show, a reporter would be at the track at 5 & 6 doing a short segment before the show. Not a coincidence.

You should have said "I'll show you Pro Wrestling!" And then hit him in the head with a metal folding chair.
