Earns $5,000 Payday at Tyler County Speedway

WAYNESBORO, Va. (06/02/20) – Logan Roberson is no stranger to Victory Lane, having earned over 25 career wins in the Crate Late Model ranks. However, Thursday’s celebration was unlike any other for the 22-year-old.

Roberson piloted his Wynbridge Inc. No. 17 RBS Auto Sales/ BTS Towing Service/ Rocket Chassis to his first-career Super Late Model victory in the King of the Ring 40 at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, W.V.

“I’m honestly still in shock, it hasn’t sunk in yet,” said an emotional Roberson following the win. “This is a dream come true. This was this first race that my mom and dad didn’t attend with me, I just wanted to make them proud. I can’t thank them enough for all they’ve done to support my career. Also, a big thanks to all of our fans and sponsors.”

After the crew thrashed overnight to get his car ready to race, Logan made the six-hour trek to Tyler County Speedway. With 30 Super Late Models on hand, Roberson secured his spot into the main event with a 10-lap heat race victory.

After multiple botched starts in the feature, Logan shot out to an early lead and looked to have the top spot locked up until a caution appeared on lap 26. Holding off a charging Max Blair in the closing laps, Roberson went on to his first win of the season. Taking the checkers ahead of Blair, Kyle Thomas, Mike Benedum, and Colten Burdette, Roberson earned a $5,000 payday.

On Saturday afternoon at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway, Roberson started the night off with a heat race victory but after a Top-8 invert he was placed eighth on the starting grid for the $2,000-to-win A-Main.

After wheeling his way into a podium position, Logan faded one spot late in the 25-lapper to place fourth behind Kyle Lee, Trever Feathers, and Nick Dickson with Justin Weaver coming in fifth.
