Lonnie Wheatley, BIXBY, Okla. (October 25, 2018) – After an Illinois weekend, Cannon McIntosh races close to home this weekend with the POWRi West Midget portion of Creek County Speedway’s “Fall Fling” in Sapulpa, OK, this Friday and Saturday.

McIntosh enters the event among the top ten in both POWRi West overall points and Sooner Series points despite missing several events along the way.

McIntosh has picked up four top-five runs in POWRi West action this season aboard the RL Hudson/Toyota-TRD No. 08 Midget including a feature win at Oklahoma City’s I-44 Riverside Speedway in July.

This weekend’s “Fall Fling” will mark McIntosh’s first Midget action atop the ¼-mile Creek County Speedway after making a Sprint Car start at the cozy oval earlier in the season.

McIntosh enters the weekend after taking in a pair of POWRi National events and the USAC-sanctioned “Jason Leffler Memorial” in Illinois last weekend.

“It had its ups and downs,” McIntosh said of the Illinois triple.

McIntosh broke out of the gates quickly by earning the night’s most passing points to earn the pole position for Friday night’s feature at Jacksonville Speedway. An incident limited him to a 14th-place finish in the feature.

“We got in a wreck in the feature, it was an up and down night,” McIntosh says.

Action moved on to Marion’s Southern Illinois Raceway on Friday night. “We gained a couple of spots in the heat race, but then we tore off a brake line in the feature,” McIntosh explains.

The team rounded out the weekend with the “Jason Leffler Memorial” at Wayne City’s Wayne County Speedway. “We just weren’t on our game and didn’t make the show,” McIntosh says.

McIntosh looks to finish out the Sooner Series portion of the POWRi West Midget League in strong form with this weekend’s “Fall Fling” at Creek County Speedway before the POWRi season finale at Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, TX, on November 9-10.

Along with RL Hudson and Toyota-TRD, other marketing partners making the ambitious 2018 slate of events possible includes American Discount, Complete Auto Care, Best Graphics, Fieldhouse Gear, Precision Inspection, Sanders and Associates, Panels by Smoke, Walker Performance, Sanders Wheels, American Discount Brake and Muffler, D&N Fabrication and Car and Fleet.

2018 Quick Stats: 33 races, 1 win, 5 top-fives, 12 top-tens.

Up Next: POWRi West Midget League at Creek County Speedway’s “Fall Fling” in Sapulpa, OK, on Friday and Saturday.
