BARDSTOWN, KY (06/16/2007) - Scottsburg, Indiana's Mike Jewell rocked the 26 entry field to notch another win in his belt capturing the 6th annual June Jam at Bluegrass Speedway. Jewell became the 11th different 2007 O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass tour winner presented by Arizona Sport Shirts. The Scottsburg Express led all 30 laps of the A-main event to bring home the $3,000 paycheck.

With three thrilling heat races leading into the night's A-main event for the nation's most competitive regional racing Series, the field was lead to the mark by Mike Jewell and third place Series points man Jerry Rice. After rounding turns one and two, the field bunched up heading down the back stretch. Halfway, the melee broke as the field began to pile up going into turn three. Caught in the eleven car accident were Barber, Tackett, Yeager, Greer, Hinkle, Corbin, Ault, Wolter, and Webb. Also involved in the crash were Watson and Smith who went pit side for repairs.

After the red flag, racing resumed with Mike Jewell jumping out to lead lap one. Lap two would see four wide racing between Rice, Barber, Neat and Todd coming out of turn two. The four would continue battling until Rice slowed on the high side coming out of turn two as Jason Hinkle slowed on the front stretch on lap three creating the second caution of the night. Rejoining the field as they paced back to the green flag were the 45 of Doug Smith and the 11J of Jeff Watson.

The restart on lap four would see the third caution of the night immediately as the 97 of Michael Chilton would drop to the inside of the track coming off of turn four forcing Chilton to retire for the night. Coming to the stripe to restart lap four for the second time would be the #9 of Mike Jewell leading the way. Following Jewell choosing the inside lane of the Delaware double-file restart would be Barber and Dustin Neat on the outside. Rounding out the top five would be Tyrel Todd and Victor Lee. Lap 8 would see Jerry Rice fall victim to his second caution of the night as he slowed coming off turn two with a flat tire forcing him to retire for the evening.

As the race resumed on lap 8, the top 5 remained the same. Bryan Barber and Dustin Neat would battle it out for second side by side as the rest of the field would spread out on laps 8 through 13. The halfway point would see Mike Jewell leading the way with Dustin Neat taking over the second spot followed by Barber, Todd, Lee, Corbin, Wheeler, McQueary, Tungate and Daniels rounding out the top ten.

Lap 19 would play out to be attention-grabbing as Jewell would find lapped traffic in turn four. Neat and Barber began to reel Jewell in. As Jewell cleared the lapped traffic, Neat and Barber would go door to door battling for the best line to slide by the slower cars. Tyrel Todd closed on Neat and Barber just as they cleared the two lapped machines. As Neat and Barber battle it out for second, Victor Lee began to close the gap on Tyrel Todd as also he worked lapped traffic. On lap 29, the wall would catch David Webb as Mike Jewell created a front stretch lead over Neat and Barber again going on to clinch the 6th annual June Jam at Bluegrass Speedway. Following Jewell, Neat, and Barber to the line were Todd, Lee, Corbin, McQueary, Wheeler, Tungate and Daniel rounding out the top ten. The PPM Performance Products Hard Charger of The Race award went to Tommy Carlton who picked up 8 positions during the night to finish 15th. The Cruise with the Champions Rookie of The Race was Jason Keltner who brought home a solid 11th place finish.

Earlier in the evening, Jeff Watson set the bar for the twenty-six entries in Racing Optic Time Trials with a quick time of 17.026. The Mason Racin'/Arizona Sport Shirts Heats were won by Jerry Rice, Mike Jewell, and Brian Barber. Timmy Yeager came out on top in the Design 500 B-Main.
