:( Rick Heck said @ the drivers meeting last night that next Sat. if the count is as its been.That the puses are going to be cut!!Either that or he was closeing the doors!!Said he is tired of looseing $$.

Well I dont know for sure about any one else??
But' my self I know that we are not going to get rich doing it.Especialy in the 4 cyl class.But' It is nice to get a trophi when you do win.Well last night the guy that won the 4 cyl. Class did not even get his photo takin!! Let alone a trophi!!Guess that wouldnt be to bad for some one who wins all the time.But' all this guy has said this yr. is I sure will be gald when I win a trophi.All he got for his effort was $50.** and a kick in the a%#!! Not even a photo to talk about!! None of the classes got a photo for their wins!! Now how would you feel if you were the one trying to win a trophi all yr. and when you finaly get there.Nothing to show for the effort!!Not even a photo!!
They told him that they had no trophies and none would be orderd for the rest of the yr. He could look around and see if there was any on the office floor.Now I am sorry!! But' I think that is CRAP!! And realy bites a big one!!Does any of the rest of the tracks pull that crap??
 
Welcome to Mt Vernon. Alot of other tracks don't treat their drivers like Sh1T, only Mt Vernon. you should try Highland,Belleville,Greenville,TriCity,Pevely,Farmington,Flora and you will see that you only get treated like that in Heckland
 
Its all about respect. You dont give it to the fans or drivers nobodies gonna give it back. Seems like he even pissed the ambulance crew off last night.
 
Some tracks are not giving out trophies anymore (Belle-Clair for example). If Mt. Vernon is loosing money, that would be one sensible way to save a little money. I'm sure most of the drivers would rather not receive a trophy and still be able to race - not that trophies are going to save that much money, but every little bit helps.

Car counts - I think this track should try moving the show to Sunday. With Highland, Pevely and Kentucky Lake all running on Saturday and no other area tracks running on Sunday, I think the track would get a much better late model count. Guys that are running for points would love to have a track that is close that they could run at on Sundays.
 
OK , i know this is a conflict of interest ( and so does everyone else ) but if rick wants his count up why not put a bounty on melvin ? maybe even put a bounty on the wilkins boys in the bomber class, im sure this would help bring the count up . j/m/o.
 
if he cant afford to buy those cheap trophys, where is the bounty money gonna come from?

Hornet guys really do get the shaft alot.
1. first class cut because of curfew
2. no payout (most tracks)
3. and now no trophy (only MtVernon)

hell they should just race in the parking lot, at least the pit pass would be free.
 
none of the classes got trophys last saturday night and at the frist of the year I dont think that they gave out trophys either.The track has been good exept for last week because of the rain and new cars have been showing up such as seets has been giving melvin a good run and burwell has been there every week and as far as wilkins what can you say he is fast.
 
I could be mistaken, but I heard the trophys given out at Mt. Vernon this year were donated by the Wilkens family. anyone know if this is true or not?

For the wondering minds, that want to know.No the Wilkins did not sponsor the trophies at MVN.Auto Zone, which sponsors one of the Wilkins cars, did sponsor the trophies one night this year.As far as trophies, Ricks towing sponsored them . hope this clears up the wondering minds.
 
sorry but mustang is correct Auto Zone who sponsers Wilkins car did the trophys for the night. I remember because Michael Boulyard won the feature for bombers and the trophy ended up in pieces because of the controversy over him winning. It seems like to me the car count is about the same as everywhere else. I do remember when they had 100+ cars a night though. I hope they figure something out cause I like racing close to home. As far as Melvin goes, he has raced there for years, I remember when he ran back of the pack all the time and I watched him work his way up... He is a good driver, the track is close to home, i dont blame him for running there. and for the record, he did win there long before rick sponsered his car or owned the track.
