FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Tim Montgomery, Fredericktown, MO picks up his first win of the season Saturday Night at St Francois County Raceway. Montgomery, driving the Dean Adams owned sprinter and sponsored by B & C Metals, Reggies Auto Body, and Hovis Race Engines, started the MainEvent inside of row two. The car is powered by a 360 cubic inch motor. In a post race interview Montgomery thanked long time driver and owner Deans Adams for the ride and also said “It be great to get a win with Dean and we did.”

When the flag fell for the start of the Main. Keith Burch, Farmington, MO took advantage of his pole starting spot and jumped to the lead. Montgomery, Jason Hunt, Bonne Terre, and Bob Thoman, Higginsville, MO would give chase.

One caution slowed the event as Jeremy Standridge, Springfield, IL did a 360 degree spin in turns 3 and 4 but kept going. It looked like he came to a stop, but did not. However the caution had already appeared.

Following Montgomery at the finish were A J Bruns, Lincoln, IL. In second, Tommy Worley, Jr., Farmington, MO finishes third, Tom Dickerman, Cedar Hills, MO bringing it home fourth and Bryan Matthews, Park Hills, MO rounding out the Top 5.

On the start Nixon was chased by Jimmy Bridgeman, Farmington, MO and Joe B. Miller, Millersville, MO. These three would move away from the pack.

Mark Shirshekan, Farmington, MO gave it his all. In his heat race the harmonic balancer came off the crankshaft and out the side of the motor. Mark and his crew hustled home and brought out a second car. Made back in time for the feature. Starting last he would finish third in the final tally.

One caution would show up in the event and that was for the spinning car of Rookie of the Year Contender, Zach Black.

This battle shaping up only lasted till lap 2 as Boyd, Tommy Worley, Sr, John Paul Reando, and Kasey Burch all tangled in turn 1. This would set the stage for Francis.

Throughout the event Francis had been working the high line and began to see the blue machine of Brent Thompson down on his left.
