Montgomery Speedway

I was near Montgomery Speedway today and couldn't just drive past it like it never existed. I pulled in and had to show my kids(age 3 and 6) that there was a amazing dirt track 20 minutes from home. We spend alot of weekends in Illinois these days! I hope one day dirt track racing will resume at Montgomery and Callaway. Seems like there's a lot of spectators and race cars between St. Charles County and Columbia MO.??

Is the facility still intact? I drive by there whenever I go to see friends and relatives out west and wonder what became of it. I only went there once but enjoyed the experience.

When i was there over the weekend the facility was looking amazing. The track had weeds growing up but otherwise someone is doing a good job maintaining it. The buildings are nice, pits were mowed, fencing was nice, scales seemed to be there still. I looked it up i think the asking price was 450k+/- and along with it is 30+ a.c. The bleachers are insane, all steel top notch! Since its on the territorial boarder ump vs usra. Not sure if its possible, how cool would it be if they hosted a battle of the sanctions race..kinda along the lines of the dome idea. Usra vs ump vs usmts vs imca. Run your rules sorta thing! That could be a money maker!!
